Premier League Player of the Week – Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is our EFL Premier League of the week after scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over Everton at Emirates Stadium.

Ramsey has been a consistent performer for the Gunners this season, and he is currently the best-performing Arsenal player in Euro Fantasy League.

The Welsh midfielder had made quite a decent start to the season, but he suffered an injury in the early days of December. It was no surprise that his presence was terribly felt by the Gunners during the festival period.

He made his comeback from the injury in a substitute appearance in the 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth. Ramsey made his first start in almost two months in the league game at Swansea City. However, the Gunners lost that game 3-1, and Ramsey ended up zero points.

After a run of three games without points, the 27-year-old was back to his best this weekend as he picked up 14 points on the back of his first career hat-trick.

However, before this mini dry spell, Ramsey had picked up points in 11 consecutive games – an impressive feat considering Arsenal’s inconsistent season.

As things stand, Ramsey is the top Arsenal player this season with 52 points from 18 appearances. His closest rival is Nacho Monreal at 47 points, and star player Mesut Ozil has only 38 points this season. He has scored six goals and provided an equal number of assists in the league this season.

At 8m, Ramsey is reasonably priced in the EFL transfer market, and now that he is back from his injury, he could be a very good buy for the remaining games this season.

Ramsey’s hat-trick was helped by a hat-trick of assists from new-signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Arsenal have a North London derby upcoming weekend, and Ramsey must be eager to shine on the big stage – as he has always done in his career.

We expect Arsenal to considerably improve their performance following their January business, and we believe that Ramsey will have a big part to play in these games.

He will have the likes of Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang to link up on the pitch, and we can see him contributing some important goals from midfield.

Ramsey enjoyed his best spell with the Gunners during the 2013-14 season when he scored ten goals and provided eight assists in the league season.

If his recent performance is anything to go by, he is on his course to improve those numbers this season.
