Serie Best Team to Pick – Round 29

FBL-EUR-C1-ROMA-SHAKHTAR-DONETSK

No massive clashes in the upcoming Serie A round, but the top teams will try to avoid stumbling to remain in contention for their seasonal objetives. Here are the suggested selections to make

Thomas Strakosha: he made a mess with Luiz Felipe in the last outing in Cagliari, indirectly causing a penalty, but he can be trusted against a seesawing Bologna team that has lost in four straight road games and is still searching for the right combination upfront.

Kalidou Koulibaly: the Napoli back-line will try to redeem itself after giving up four goals to Roma in the last home game, but they will have a cosier time against a Genoa team that has had some trouble hitting the back of the net.

Alessio Romagnoli: he is playing with great authority in the back in the last few weeks. Milan will take on the sliding Chievo, which have scored only once in their last seven away fixtures.

Mattia De Scigliothe stifling Juventus defence kept another two more sheets against Atalanta and Udinese. He should be out there in the Spal match as well because Stephan Lichsteiner is banged up.

Felipe Anderson: he had an impactful cameo in the Cagliari, where he created plays all over the pitch. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a little dinged up and so he might be in the starting XI, in any case he is the most in-form between their attacking midfielders.

Suso: he assisted André Silva’s game-winner last week and he is sending in a plethora of juicy crosses from the right flank over the last few games. He is no stranger to scoring as well and he might do damage against Chievo.

Josip Ilicic: it does not matter whether he starts or he comes off the bench, his impressive numbers are growing more and more. Atalanta have been pretty good on the road lately, Juventus clash aside, and they will square off against the leaky Verona defence.

Dries Mertens: he hit a brick wall in San Siro, but he needs just a sliver of room to bury one. He will have an easier time finding that against Genoa, which has a decent defence, but Napoli will be out for blood after two costly missteps.

Edin Dzeko: he bagged a fantastic brace in Napoli and scored the decisive goal in Champions League. The Bosnian centre-forward is back and he can certainly be deployed against the porous Crotone defence.

Massimo Coda: Benevento have won in three of their last four home games and the only loss in that stretch came against Napoli. Coda has put his name in the scoresheet three times recently and he might be able to do that again as they take on Cagliari.

Gonzalo Higuain: Spal have been fiery lately, but they have allowed 50 goals so far this season and Juventus have the best attack in Serie A scoring-wise. He scored and assisted in the midweek game.
