Arsenal’s Big Transfers… or not?

The Premier League’s transfer market window is open and will close at 17:00 BST on Thursday, 9 August. EPL clubs are allowed to direct the buy and offer of players amid the winter and summer exchange windows. For some of them, the market has gone well and they’ve closed some decent deals. Reaction of the fans may be different, but clubs looks for stature, skills and ability since they are some of the most important features for every EPL team chairman.

Here are some transfers that positively shook both fans and people who just like to watch football all around the world. For some of them, transfers funds are often wasted, but there are also many of them who think that every team needs fresh player every season, especially if they were marked by pundits as potential champions. Based on recent transfers, many online betting sites presented their offers on this season’s favorites.  It was seen before in the past that UK betting sites provide the best and most attractive offers for the EPL winner, however, question is, how these new players will fit in their new teams and can they stay up for the challenge?

Arsenal have signed Stephan Lichtsteiner to their ranks from Serie A giants Juventus. The player, fondly known as the “Swiss Express” in tribute to his stamina and endurance, is highly-experienced defender who covers the right side of the pitch. His record is impressive, with over 250 appearances for Juventus, and him being the current captain of Switzerland and already surpassed 100 caps for the Swiss national team since making his debut back in 2006.

Lichtsteiner will wear the number 12 on his shirt, and will certainly add experience and depth to the team. Emery confirmed as much in his interview highlighting that Stephan will bring experience and quality, determination and quality. Unai feels that Stephan will is something what Arsenal needs for the next season and that he will improve Arsenal squad on and off the pitch.

One important arrival is Sokratis Papastathopoulos from German club Dortmund, however the transfer fee has not been revealed or made known publicly. Sokratis, who will wear number 5 on his shirt, has plenty of experience on the pitch from Germany, Italy and Greece as well as on the international scene with 79 appearances made for the Greek national team.

Thus, Arsenal’s focus has been on making improvements in the back, as Emery felt it needed strengthening. Many other EPL clubs also finalized some important transfers, hoping they will be strong enough to win the title this season. The battle for this season’s EPL title will be stiff, no doubt!
