Sevilla stay in race for top four with big win over Real Sociedad

Pablo Sarabia gave Sevilla the lead after 25 minutes after some great work down the left by Quincy Promes. Sarabia turned in Promes’ cross at the far post to make it 1-0.

The lead only lasted three minutes, however. Real Sociedad’s number 10, Mikel Oyarzabal equalised for the visitors with an excellent left-footed finish low into the far corner.

In the second half, Ben Yedder scored three goals in 13 minutes without reply. Then Oyarzabal scored an unfortunate own goal and it was suddenly 5-1 to the hosts.

Oyarzabal managed to net his third goal of the game – second one for Real Sociedad – with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Ben Yedder’s three goals brought him a points haul of 14 points for the game, bringing him up to 74 for the season overall.

Sarabia was Sevilla’s next highest points scorer with 4. They did have a few players with negative points due to conceding two goals.

Striker Munir El Haddadi also got -1 point thanks to the yellow card he picked up just before half time.

Sevilla’s goalkeeper Juan Soriano finished with -2 points alongside defender Daniel Carrico. Sergi Gomez and Gabriel Mercado finished with -1 point apiece.

Jesus Navas was the only other Sevilla points scorer, getting 2 points for providing the assist for Ben Yedder’s first goal.

Mikel Oyarzabal was Real Sociedad’s top fantasy football points scorer and, in fact, he was the only Sociedad player with a positive total from the game. He finished with 8 points thanks to his two goals on the day.

Real Sociedad’s ‘keeper Geronimo Rulli had a game to forget. Conceding five goals, Rulli finished with a -8 points total after Sevilla’s win.

Defender Raul Navas had -5 points while Hector Moreno, Theo Hernandez and Zaldua all had -4 points for their efforts.

Every other Sociedad player finished with zero points.

Wissam Ben Yedder was Sevilla’s hero of the day and his 74 points total for the season puts him as the third highest striker in fantasy La Liga, behind Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
