Leonardo Spinazzola spoke to Rai Sport and Tuttomercatoweb after his solid showing with Italy against Lichtenstein: “I am back and I can still improve a lot physically, I need this type of games to find the peak form. Cristiano Ronaldo told us that he is serene, he believes he will be back in ten days. We hope he will return in time for the next Champions League match.”

On the skirmish with Atalanta in January of 2018: “It was a particular moment, I do not want to revisit it. Juventus were looking for fullbacks and I believed I could help, I was feeling strong mentally too. I thought I could do the jump right away and move up my arrival. Anyway, I was happy to stay with Atalanta and we fared well in Europe too.”

On declining the move to Bologna in January: “I made the call, I wanted to stay at Juventus and try to prove my value. Football gives and takes away, but players must always be ready.” After a prolonged absence as he was recovering from an ACL tear, he has been able to get some spot minutes from January on and started four times in all competitions.

The Old Lady has been after Cristian Romero basically since the defender made his Serie A debut and yesterday Genoa’s sporting director Giorgio Perinetti pretty much confirmed that the Argentinian starlet is set to join Juventus, but perhaps not right away, while talking to RMC Sport Live Show: “The Bianconeri were the first ones to scout him and noticed his personality. They moved early and, if you ask me that, I will answer that he will probably move to Turin, but I do not know when. I think that he will still be with Genoa next season because another campaign with us can only be beneficial for him, but you can never say never in football.” Romero has featured 19 times with Griffon thus far and impressed also in the recent clash between the two teams.

UEFA issued an international player ranking after the first two rounds of the Euro2020 qualifiers, which is based on algorithm that factors in the performances, the minutes and the stats racked up while featuring with national teams. It is topped by Antoine Griezmann, while the first Juventus players are Leonardo Bonucci (25th) and Giorgio Chiellini (36th). Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously way down (1431st) since he did not play in the Nations League and got hurt early in the second game back. No other Bianconeri are in the top 100.
