Radja Nainggolan spoke to the media in the immediate aftermath of last night’s 1-1 draw between Inter and Juventus, a match in which he scored a magnificent goal during the early stages. Here is what the Belgian midfielder had to say: “I believe that we can be satisfied with our performance tonight, even if we wanted to get a better result.
“We didn’t give them much though and we had further chances to score in the second half. Sometimes, our best qualities come out in games that are as open as that one. We showed today that we can compete and it will depend on us up until the final game. The final sprint for the Champions League depends on us, we need to win our games and not worry about the others. My goal? The team’s result is what counts for me, I just thought to hit it and scored a good goal. I hope that the next one will be a season without injuries.”
Italian full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio also reflected on the match, while also looking ahead to the Nerazzurri’s encounter with Udinese next weekend: “We had an excellent start with a number of chances in the first half, only taking one of them. Then, we dropped off a bit which is normal against a team with their technical and tactical quality.
“They have lots of different options and they can often change their system, you have to be focused for 95 minutes and beyond to face them. We needed to score a second in the first half. There’s no time to have regrets now, we have an important game against Udinese on Saturday and it will be another opportunity to get closer to our objective. Udinese aren’t in a great position in the table so they’ll be looking to get points.”
