Inter central defender Milan Škriniar spoke to Sky Sport earlier today having enjoyed his first few days of working under the tutelage of new coach Antonio Conte. Here is what he had to say:
“There’s a lot of desire to work and improve. We’re working hard and well and that’s important. We knew what was waiting for us with the new coach and you could see it straight away from the first training session. What we know is that we have to work at our best from the first day because our objective is to compete for the top spots.
“I’ve always said that I want to stay here, I’m happy to be here. With the new coach, there could be a new style of play which is something we have to pay a lot of attention to. We’re also working on this in order to keep doing better.”
New arrival Valentino Lazaro is also enjoying life under the former Juventus and Chelsea tactician. This is what he had to say during an interview with Inter TV earlier this week:
“I’m very happy to be here and to have started on this new adventure. All my teammates are fantastic, there’s a great atmosphere and we want to work hard. I feel good, everything is going very well.
“The welcome that I’ve been given has been exceptional, everyone is giving me a hand. I’m already learning a bit of Italian and in the meantime, Ivan Perišić is working as my translator.
“Even if it’s only the second day, we’ve seen how Antonio Conte likes to work and he likes to work at the max. We’re working as well as we can because we have big goals and we want to do well. It will be special to wear an Inter shirt for the first time, I can’t wait to take to the pitch.”
