Another week has pasted and AC Milan remain active on the transfer market. After announcing Hernandez and Krunich, while Bennacer is only details away, the Rossoneri are planning to bring in a few more signings: currently prioritizing the midfield.
Veretout negotiations continue; alternatives identified
After a summit with the Fiorentina directors on Friday, the negotiations have continued between the two parties for Veretout, who remains Milan’s top priority for the midfield. However, there is still distance between the offer and demand, as the Rossoneri are keen on including Biglia in the negotiations.
Should the negotiations break down completely, then Boban and Maldini have already eyed a few alternatives, as reported by CM, Gazzetta and Sky. Three midfielders have been put on their radar: Lobotka of Celta Vigo, Pizarro of Monterrey and Seri of Fulham. For now, as mentioned, they remain alternatives to the Frenchman.
Suso attracts interest; Roma back in the race
The Spaniard could get limited playing time under Giampaolo next season as a result of the new formation (4-3-1-2). Therefore, despite the lack of transfer news on his case, his future is yet to be decided and it seems that Roma have picked up where they left off last summer, asking the Rossoneri about information.
However, as stated in Sky Italia’s report, it remains an idea for the time being, although contacts are expected to take place between the two clubs to understand if the deal would be possible. Suso’s €40m release clause, which is only valid to foreign clubs, won’t be used as a starting value in the negotiations, as both clubs are aware of the situation.
It remains to be seen if the deal will involve any technical counterparts, or if Roma will make a cash offer for the winger. Previous reports have suggested that Schick might go in the opposite direction, as Giampaolo would like to reunite with his former player at San Siro. On the other hand, the Rossoneri don’t need another striker.
Bennacer only details away; medicals after Afcon
The midfielder has made up his mind: he wants to join Milan. Therefore, the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with the player on the personal terms, with only the details left to sort. After the African Cup Of Nations, Bennacer is expected to have his medical before going on a short vacation ahead of the upcoming season.
The price tag will reportedly be €16m plus €1m in bonuses, double of what Milan paid for the Algerian’s former team-mate, Krunic. In any case, the deal finally seems to be done, after a few differences delayed the negotiations. As reported by various outlets, though, the deal was never in danger.
