The Reds’ Manager vowed that his team will find their way to the Champions League climax in Istanbul. Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi led Klopp’s club to victory in Madrid last season of the Champions League. The manager showed a high spirit while making a very public announcement. The Reds’ slammed Mauricio Pochettino’s men with their 2-0 triumph and the wild celebration after the game’s final whistle. Klopp made up for the loss of the Premier League title and went on to win his first trophy as the manager of Liverpool in the last season of the Champions League.

Calling It In

The Citizens’ manager Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp promised to kick butt [sic] again next year, revealed Klopp. The Merseyside manager had Guardiola on the phone when this conversation took place. It will be exciting to see whether or not both the teams last long enough to see eye to eye at the 2020 Champions League final in Istanbul.

The Manchester City Controversy

Meeting the Reds in the finals and kicking butt may have to wait for Guardiola. Manchester City found itself in a scandal following allegations of unfair financial practices. If proven correct, the former Premier League Champions may not be a part of the Champions League tournament in 2020.

Despite the claims, the club denies any financial wrongdoing and is cooperating with the UEFA in their ongoing investigation into their finances.

The 2020 UEFA Super Cup

The winners of the Champions League and the Europa League in 2020 will compete to lift the silverware at the Super Cup at Portugal in August the same year.

After Turkey hosted 2005’s historic game of the Champions League final, this is the first time that Liverpool sets foot on the Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
