Paratici keeps it close to the vest on the transfer market

Juventus main official Fabio Paratici talked to Sky Sport after the usual intra-squad friendly at Villar Perosa: “There are a lot of talks in these days of negotiations, but then not a lot of business really gets made. We are serene and confident. It is a great day to be here with our people, this is the Juventus equivalent of Christmas.”

On some players potentially on their way out: “The Champions League list has precise parameters and neither the coach or I can change that. We have just one local player this year compared to the previous ones, so we will have to let somebody go to have a 22-man squad. Marko Pjaca and Mattia Perin are unlikely to leave because of their long-term injuries, while Luca Pellegrini is headed to Cagliari.”

On the rumours about Daniele Rugani and Mario Mandzukic: “Nobody is particularly close to being sold, we have a high-quality roster. We have been recognized as one of the top teams in the world over the last five or six seasons. The human level comes before everything, our players have to be respected for what they have done for our and for the kind of persons they are. We have a group of serious workers, then the window is open and there are some inquiries from other clubs, but three parties have to be in agreement to close a deal. We will take stock as the transfer market session winds down.”

On Paulo Dybala: “He is a great Juventus player, our no.10. He is being pursued, like are some others. It is a situation that is ongoing, we will discuss it together.”

On Mauro Icardi: “He is an Inter player, we speak about ours, we have great strikers, like Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic, who have won a ton during their careers. We have Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo, I would not talk about players that belong to other teams. We are happy with what we have, we made some sacrifices to get them, they are very good and professional and gave us and the fans several satisfactions. Then we will see if an opportunity presents itself.”

On the playing style: “I think every coach has his philosophy and I have witnessed to many great games by Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus. I have to thank him personality before he made me grow professionally and humanly. It was a great pleasure to work next two him and his staff for five years. In the ended, titles are the only thing that matters and that is our main goal.”

He was a little more talkative in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport: “I am very satisfied with the acquisition of Matthijs De Ligt, I had never seen somebody who had offers from the top ten teams in the world. It was a coup. Then, signing players for free, like Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, is an excellent thing that should not be taken for granted.”

“Danilo should not be underestimated, he won a lot and I am sure he will surprise people. The same for Merih Demiral, who was our player that got the most offers. Sami Khedira is a great player and will stay with us, like Blaise Matuidi.”
