Fantasy LaLiga picks for this weekend’s matches

How did your LaLiga fantasy team get on over the opening weekend?

I’m sure, like all of us, you’ll need to make some changes throughout the squad. Well, that’s what we’re here for.

Have a read and see if any tips stick out which might suit your fantasy LaLiga team this weekend.

Goalkeeper – Unai Simon (Athletic Bilbao) – 5.5 million

A good budget option, Unai Simon is only half the price of last week’s pick, Jan Oblak. Simon managed a clean sheet against Barcelona so another one is very possible away to Getafe.

Defender – Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid) – 8.0 million

Former Spurs defender Kieran Trippier started life at Atleti with a win last weekend.

Defender – Clement Lenglet (Barcelona) – 6.5 million

Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet will be eager for a win and a clean sheet at the Camp Nou on Sunday. The league champions started with a 1-0 loss at Athletic Bilbao in their opening game.

Defender – Daniel Carrico (Sevilla) – 4.5 million

Daniel Carrico is a solid option in defence at a budget price of just 4.5 million. Kept a clean sheet in gameweek 1.

Defender – Marcelo (Real Madrid) – 8.0 million

Real should win at home to Valladolid and Marcelo is always a good bet for a clean sheet in such a game.

Midfielder – Marcos Llorente (Atletico Madrid) – 3.5 million

Marcos Llorente joined from Atleti’s arch-rivals Real Madrid this summer and is a steal at just 3.5 million.

Midfielder – Joan Jordan (Sevilla) – 7.5 million

The Spanish creative midfielder, Joan Jordan, just signed from Eibar this summer. He may be tasked with replacing the outgoing Pablo Sarabia.

Midfielder – Santiago Cazorla (Villarreal) – 5.5 million

Great to see the veteran midfielder back in action. Cazorla scored a penalty and set up another goal in Villarreal’s 4-4 draw last weekend.

Midfielder – Lucas (Real Madrid) – 6.5 million

Came off the bench to score in Real’s win at Celta Vigo. Could have played his way into Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven for now.

Forward – Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) – 10.0 million

Karim Benzema was in excellent form in Real’s 3-1 win at Celta Vigo. Expect more of the same from the former French international against Valladolid.

Forward – Manuel Nolito (Sevilla) – 6.5 million

Nolito scored in Sevilla’s 2-0 win at Espanyol. He will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet again at Granada.

Team in full (4-4-2): Unai Simon (Athletic Bilbao); Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Clement Lenglet (Barcelona), Daniel Carrico (Sevilla), Marcelo (Real Madrid); Marcos Llorente (Atletico Madrid), Joan Jordan (Sevilla), Santiago Cazorla (Villarreal), Lucas (Real Madrid); Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Manuel Nolito (Sevilla)

Total cost: 72.0 million
