Premier League match previews

This weekend sees another full schedule of English Premier League fixtures.

Here’s our look at the games ahead along with score predictions for each match.

Bournemouth Vs Manchester United

Key men: Callum Wilson (Bournemouth); Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)

Prediction: Bournemouth 2 – 2 Manchester United

Both sides are level on 13 points going into this game at the Vitality Stadium. Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth will fancy taking at least a point on Saturday.

Brighton Vs Norwich City

Key men: Neal Maupay (Brighton); Teemu Pukki (Norwich City)

Prediction: Brighton 2 – 1 Norwich City

A tough game to call between the two newly-promoted sides. Ultimately, Norwich’s leaky defence is likely to cost them again.

Arsenal Vs Wolves

Key men: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal); Raul Jimenez (Wolves)

Prediction: Arsenal 1 – 1 Wolves

Wolves struggled early in the season but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has now gone 8 games without defeat in all competitions. I think they’ll get a draw at Arsenal this weekend.

Aston Villa Vs Liverpool

Key men: Jack Grealish (Aston Villa); Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

Prediction: Aston Villa 0 – 2 Liverpool

This is likely to be another hard-fought three points for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s men have become adept at grinding out results when they’re up against it. It won’t be easy for them at Villa Park but that doesn’t stop The Reds winning anymore.

Manchester City Vs Southampton

Key men: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City); Nathan Redmond (Southampton)

Prediction: Manchester City 4 – 0 Southampton

What a week for The Saints. Last Friday, they suffered the worst ever home defeat in Premier League history, losing 9-0 to Leicester at St Mary’s. Then they had to pick themselves up and face into two consecutive clashes with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team. They lost 3-1 at the Etihad on Tuesday night in the League Cup. Saturday’s league fixture could be a tougher day for them.

Sheffield United Vs Burnley

Key men: Lys Mousset (Sheffield United); Ashley Barnes (Burnley)

Prediction: Sheffield United 0 – 0 Burnley

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United team has the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League after 10 games. The Blades have only conceded 8 goals, equal with Liverpool and Leicester City. Saturday’s meeting with Burnley will probably be a tight, low-scoring encounter.

West Ham United Vs Newcastle United

Key men: Sebastien Haller (West Ham United); Allan Saint-Maximin (Newcastle United)

Prediction: West Ham United 2 – 0 Newcastle United

West Ham have gone five without a win in all competitions but should take all three points against a Newcastle side with just one win in their previous eight games.

Watford Vs Chelsea

Key men: Etienne Capoue (Watford); Mason Mount (Chelsea)

Prediction: Watford 1 – 3 Chelsea

Chelsea should make it 8 consecutive victories against bottom-of-the-table Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.

Crystal Palace Vs Leicester City

Key men: Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace); Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Leicester City

Both teams have had a very impressive start to 2019/20. I think Leicester will continue their meteoric rise with another good win at Selhurst Park.

Everton Vs Spurs

Key men: Richarlison (Everton); Harry Kane (Spurs)

Prediction: Everton 1 – 2 Spurs

An away win for Spurs is on the cards here. They looked better, at times, at Anfield last Sunday and will be desperate to get back to winning ways.
