Paratici comments on De Ligt, the strikers and the coaching change

Juventus’ top executive Fabio Paratici gave another interview, this time to Tuttosport. After reaffirming the club’s serenity about Cristiano Ronaldo’s status and future, he commented on Giorgio Chiellini’s incendiary’s words about Real Madrid robbing the Portuguese ace of the Balloon d’Or last year: “He truly deserved it, he is the best. Giorgio was right, some clubs have more power on the international scale, but I do not how you can influence an award like this.”

On Matthijs De Ligt: “He is a monster, the best investment on a youngster that we have ever made. Some doubted him, but his teammates and I always believed in him. He is phenomenal, at 20 he is already starting in a top club. He will be the best defender for the next ten years.”

On Antonio Conte: “It is certainly something to see him at Inter, I am fond of him. We owe a lot to him, both as a player and as a coach. The title race will be tight until the end, we knew that. He is friend, I wish him good luck, but not too much.”

On Sinisa Mihajlovic and Roberto Mancini: “It is great that he has been able to come back, he was very close to coming to Juventus in the past. He is a warrior and we got further confirmation of that. I am very happy for the work of Mancini with the Azzurri, he put together a squad of players that were underestimated and trusted them. We have a lot of good prospects for the future.”

On Juventus’ secret for success: “Having great players with outstanding values, intelligence and character. Being a man matters more when we decide whom to buy. The president conveys our beliefs very well, we have a history that can be heavy but also helps us a lot.”

On Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain being put on the market during the summer: “We must always pay attention to the opportunities, but nobody believed in them more than we did. We are happy, Gonzalo demonstrated all his desire to stay and Paulo wears our no.10 with honour.”

On Massimiliano Allegri: “We lived a wonderful time with him, he deserves a lot of credit. We parted ways mutually, we decided together.”

On Maurizio Sarri: “He impressed us at Napoli and confirmed himself at Chelsea, that made us think that could be the right man for the job.”

On an unrelated note, after missing one game with knee soreness, Sami Khedira will undergo a clean-up procedure today and is poised to miss the remaining games of 2019.
