Veteran Iker Casillas is perhaps one of the most decorated goalkeepers to ever play the game. He is the captain of both Real Madrid and Spain. He won the World Cup in South Africa 2010 as well as two European championships with Spain. With Real, he won the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga more than once. He played in 37 league games in 2011-12 but has suffered under Jose Mourinho who cast him aside before current Real coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Casillas's status as a backup for Los Blancos in La Liga. Despite warming the bench in league matches, the veteran Casillas accepted Ancelotti's decision with great professionalism and went on to produce some solid performances in both Spain's Copa del Rey and the European Champions League. Casillas had a horrible Brazil 2014 experience and he came under heavy criticism, in particular for his dismal performance against the Netherlands. He will be working very hard to regain his place as a starter with Real Madrid during the 2014-15 season.
