Top Five Goalkeepers – Premier League – Week 34

Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City are all in FA Cup action this weekend, however with a whole host of crucial ties, we look at 5 goalkeepers who are in with a great shout of earning some fantasy football points for your team. David de Gea from Manchester United, Joel Robles of Everton, Artur Boruc of Bournemouth, Heurelho Gomes from Watford and Lee Grant from Stoke City all come under closer scrutiny.

David de Gea – Manchester United

David de Gea received the honour of featuring in goals for the PFA team of the season this week and with 12 clean sheets in 30 starts, it’s easy to see why. He has been phenomenal this season and with a trip to Burnley this weekend, the chances of a win with a clean sheet are very high. He is expensive at 12.5M but has accumulated 70 points so far and his price performance ratio of 6.2 looks set to rise this weekend.

Joel Robles – Everton

Everton have already turned West Ham United this season, 2-0 at home and with their sights set on a top 6 finish, they will be going all out for a win here. Joel Robles has been consistent for Everton this season with 9 clean sheets in 17 starts. He can be in your fantasy football team for just 5.5M and his price/performance ratio is 8.4.

Artur Boruc – Bournemouth

Bournemouth know that a home win this weekend against Middlesbrough would virtually ensure their Premier League status for another season. They would move 10 points ahead of Swansea and 1 points ahead of their visitors. Artur Boruc hasn’t had the greatest season, but they should be up for this match. The Polish keeper has kept 7 clean sheets in his 31 starts and his price/performance ratio is -3.9.

Heurelho Gomes – Watford

Heurelho Gomes is one of the leagues form keepers of the moment. He has kept 3 clean sheets in his last 4 matches and with an away match against struggling Hull City this weekend, he has a great chance of keeping his 8th clean sheet. He is valued at 6.5M and his price/performance ratio is -0.2, however, that should move into the positive after this weekend.

Lee Grant – Stoke City

Stoke City ended a horrific run of form with a 3-1 win over Hull City last weekend. They will look to keep that run going with a win over Swansea City this weekend, and Lee Grant will feature in goals. He has kept 9 clean sheets in 28 starts and he could be a cheaper option for your team with a price of just 3M.
