Top 5 Fantasy Football Goalkeepers – La Liga – Week 33

sergiorico

There are some exciting matches taking place this weekend in La Liga, most notably El Classico which kicks off on Sunday evening. However, we will avoid that match as we look for 5 goalkeepers who can earn some fantasy football points. Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid, Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico, Andres Fernandez of Villarreal, Salvatore Sirigu of Osasuna and Sergio Alvarez Conde of Celta Vigo are the players under consideration this week.

Jan Oblak – Atletico Madrid

With the top 2 playing each other this weekend, this is an ideal opportunity for Atletico Madrid to make some ground on the leaders. Their chances of landing the title this season are slim, but it’s hard to see them slipping up against Espanyol. Jan Oblak is one of the most consistent players in the league and can be in your team for 5.5M. He leads the way in the goalkeeper charts with 69 points and with 12 clean sheets so far, his price/performance ratio is 13.8.

Sergio Rico – Sevilla

Sevilla, who are in 4th place in La Liga have a home match against 2nd bottom Granada this weekend and they should have more than enough quality throughout their ranks to collect 3 points here. Sergio Rico has kept 11 clean sheets in his 30 starts and is valued at just 2M. The chances of him improving his already impressive price/performance ratio of 26.0 this weekend must be very high indeed.

Andres Fernandez – Villarreal

Andres Fernandez has proven himself to be a more than able deputy for the injured Sergio Asenjo. In his 8 starts this season he has kept 3 clean sheets and with a home match against Leganes ( a side who have lost their last 3) a win with a clean sheet looks a real possibility for Villarreal. Fernandez is valued at 3.5M and his price/performance ratio is 2.0.

Salvatore Sirigu – Osasuna

Osasuna are rooted to the bottom of the table and a chance is taken on them to get the win over fellow relegation battlers Sporting Gijon. Their recent form has been ok and they have won 2 of their last 3 and keeper Salvatore Sirigu, who is the 3rd keeper Osasuna have tried this season, will have a decent opportunity to improve on his price/performance ratio of -6.5

Sergio Alvarez Conde – Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo have won 3 of their last 5 and although there in not much to play for in their match with Real Betis, a home win looks on the cards here. Sergio Alvarez Conde has kept 2 clean sheets in his last 5 and is valued at 6M. Celta will look to finish the season with a flourish and Conde should improve on his price/performance ratio of 0.3.
