As La Liga draws to a close, it’s all to play for at the top end of the table and we take a look at five midfielders who should be in among the points this weekend. Yannick F. Carrasco and Jorge R. Koke of Atletico Madrid, James Rodríguez of Real Madrid, Vicente Iborra from Sevilla and Malaga midfielder Pablo Fornals all come under the spotlight in our hunt for fantasy football points.

Yannick F. Carrasco – Atletico Madrid

Regular readers will notice that Yannick F. Carrasco is becoming a permanent fixture in this column. The midfielder is having a terrific season and has contributed with 10 goals, 6 assists and 16 clean sheets. With 75 points accumulated so far this season, he can be in your side for 8.5M and his price/performance ratio of 9.1 has every chance of rising this weekend.

Jorge R. Koke – Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have had a fight on their hands to reach third place in La Liga, and now they are there, they won’t be giving up without a fight. They face Eibar at home this weekend and their record against them is nothing short of brilliant. They haven’t lost to them since 2001 and never lost a top-flight match against them. Jorge R. Koke, with 4 goals, 7 assists and 18 clean sheets should feature. He is valued at 9M and his price/performance ratio is 6.8.

James Rodriguez – Real Madrid

James Rodriguez has found himself back in the Real Madrid team due to an injury suffered by Gareth Bale and he is making the most of his chance. He has scored 3 goals in his last 3 matches and with Real Madrid facing an already relegated Granada side, he has a great chance of adding to his goals tally. He is valued at 11M and his price/performance ratio is 4.5.

Vicente Iborra – Sevilla

Sevilla know that a win this weekend against Real Sociedad will all but secure third place with their nearest challengers Villarreal facing a tricky trip to Barcelona. Vicente Iborra has been on top form this season with 7 goals, 2 assists and 10 clean sheets in just 12 starts and 18 substitute appearances. He is valued at just 4M and has racked up a total of 45 points, giving him a price/performance ratio of 11.0.

Pablo Fornals – Malaga

Malaga are the form side of La Liga at the moment with 3 wins on the bounce. They face Celta de Vigo at home this weekend and they have every chance of making it 4 in a row. Pablo Fornals has scored 8 points in his last 3 matches and scored last time out. He is valued at 7M and his price/performance ratio is 5.7.
