Whats the point in keeping Richarlison?

Richarlison

Watford splashed out a bargain £11.2 million to Fluminense in the summer for Brazilian under-20 star Richarlison before the European transfer window went crazy in transfer fees. The 20-year-old had been scouted by a number of top European teams, including Manchester United and Chelsea, before the Hertfordshire-based club won the race for the attacking midfielder’s signature.

Richarlison made an instant impact at Vicarage Road. On his debut in their opening game of the season he came off the bench to be involved in Watford’s dramatic stoppage time equaliser against Liverpool in a thrilling 3-3 draw. The youngster would go on to score five goals and record three assists in his first 12 Premier League appearances – impressive given the size of the club, his age and his first venture in European football.

However, since that 12th game of the season, when the talented attacker scored in a 2-0 victory over West Ham United, Richarlison has not found himself on the scoresheet since – 19 games to be precise. His only assist since came in a 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace before Christmas. There’s no doubt the player has talent but it appears a dip in Watford’s form and perhaps his first year in English football has taken a toll on the Brazilian.

Indeed, a number of foreign players have made am impressive start to their Premier League career before going quiet for the second half of the season. Perhaps it can be put down to the physical nature of the English top flight, or maybe even the weather! And with rain on the forecast and even talk of further snow on the island then perhaps now is the time to drop Richarlison from your fantasy team already. The Hornets aren’t having much luck in front of goal not picking up many points either of late. So if you want to get some valuable points between now and the end of the season there are better value midfielders out there right now.
