Roma’s transfer market in full swing

Despite the transfer not having officially opened, clubs throughout Europe are already completing transfer deals and are knee-deep in transfer negotiations, with Roma being no exception. Just within the last week, the Giallorossi have been linked to a host of players while some of those within Trigoria have been linked with potential moves away from the Italian capital.

Roma already have a deal in place to bring Ante Ćorić to the Eternal City, but they also have their eyes on other names to reinforce their midfield. No name is hotter than that of Ajax midfield Hakim Ziyech, who nearly join the club last summer. Roma’s sporting director, Monchi, has long been interested in the player and with Ziyech having publicly declared last week that he’d like to leave the Dutch club this summer – perhaps the timing is right for Roma to finally land the player.

As for potential departures, Roma have already informed right back Bruno Peres that he has no place in the squad as the Brazilian has been asked to find a new club – marking an end to his poor spell since having joined from Torino. Meanwhile, highly rated midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini just today was linked to a potential move to Arsenal. Roma will certainly want to keep the youngster, however, since Pellegrini has a release clause in his contract, this may prove difficult.

With the transfer market set to close before the start of the season in Serie A, top flight sides throughout Italy will certainly be working more diligently and quickly this summer.
