EPL Weekend Picks – Round 5

Alexandre Lacazette

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso are among the high-scorers for EPL Fantasy managers so far this season, but there are plenty of other players across the league who could be worthy of inclusion in your team this weekend.

GK – Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea)
Chelsea’s big-money summer signing has picked up 12 points so far this season – Liverpool’s Alisson is the only goalkeeper with more – and he will surely add to that tally in the upcoming matches against low-scoring Cardiff and West Ham.

DF – Steve Cook (Bournemouth)
If you don’t have much left for a defender, Steve Cook is a relatively cheap option at 7.00m. The centre-back starts every game for Bournemouth and he already has nine points in 2018-19.

DF – Harry Maguire (Leicester)
With fixtures coming up against Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Everton, Leicester will surely keep one or two clean sheets in the next month. Harry Maguire only has five points but he’s good value at 7.00m.

DF – Ciaran Clark (Newcastle)
Ciaran Clark has started all four of Newcastle’s league games this season and has a grand total of zero points to his name. However, given that he only costs 2.00m, the defender might be worth a gamble ahead of games against Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Leicester.

DF – Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City)
With 13 points to his name this season, Benjamin Mendy is a must-have in your team at a bargain price of 6.50m. He even sent out a tweet to fantasy players on Monday, insisting nobody with him in their team has wasted their money!

MD – Lucas Moura (Tottenham)
One of the biggest surprises in the first month of the season has been Lucas Moura, Tottenham’s January signing from PSG who failed to make an impression in 2017-18. This season, however, he has 13 points from four games and is another bargain at 7.00m.

MD – Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)
Crystal Palace were without Wilfried Zaha against Southampton last week, and everybody knows what happens when he doesn’t play – Palace lose. The club’s talisman, valued at 8.50m, will be back for Saturday’s trip to Huddersfield.

MD – Jean Seri (Fulham)
This is a risky one. Long-term, Jean Seri is likely to be a good addition to anybody’s EPL Fantasy team. Short-term, Fulham travel to mighty Manchester City on Saturday, so only go for the 7.00m midfielder if you think he’ll add to his respectable tally of six points so far this season.

MD – Ruben Neves (Wolves)
You know how Gylfi Sigurdsson was a must-have EPL Fantasy player for so long? Well, Ruben Neves might take on a similar status in the years to come. The midfielder doesn’t come cheap at 8.00m but he’s off to a decent start with eight points.

ST – Danny Ings (Southampton)
Long-term EPL Fantasy players will appreciate how difficult it is to trust strikers with injury problems in their team. Thankfully, Danny Ings looks to be back on track now and his tally of eight points from four games is very impressive for someone valued at 3.50m.

ST – Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal)
Alexandre Lacazette scored one goal and set up another in his first start of the season against Cardiff last week. He’s definitely a gamble at 12.00m but he might be worth it if he can hold down a permanent place in Arsenal’s starting XI.
