EPL Weekend Picks – Round 8

Eden Hazard

The eighth week of the 2018-19 Premier League season features the biggest game of the campaign so far, Liverpool v Manchester City, while Manchester United host Newcastle. Let’s take a look at 11 players who you should consider adding to your EPL Fantasy team before the weekend.

GK – Rui Patricio (Wolves)
Rui Patricio has picked up an incredible 17 points this season — Ederson, Allison and Kepa Arrizabalaga are the only goalkeepers with more — and he could easily add to that tally in upcoming matches against Crystal Palace, Watford and Brighton.

DF – Jose Holebas (Watford)
It might seem strange suggesting a Watford defender — they haven’t kept a clean sheet since the opening day — but they don’t concede many (eight in seven games) and they face Bournemouth, Wolves and Huddersfield next. Jose Holebas has 11 points this season and only costs 6.00m.

DF – Jonathan Otto (Wolves)
Ryan Bennett is the most selected Wolves defender by EPL Fantasy managers, but Jonathan Otto is also worth looking at. He has earned 18 points in his last four games and is an absolute bargain at 6.50m.

DF – Michael Keane (Everton)
Michael Keane has scored one goal, set up another and kept one clean sheet in his five games so far this season. He’d be a gamble ahead of matches against Leicester, Crystal Palace and Manchester United, but 3.50m gambles are worth taking!

DF – Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)
With three clean sheets and two assists to his name already this season, Marcos Alonso has earned 21 points so far in 2018-19. Chelsea play Southampton, Manchester United and Burnley next, so the 8.50m left-back should definitely be considered.

MD – Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
Manchester City have a plethora of star names in midfield but none of them have earned as many points as Raheem Sterling (27) this season. The England man has scored or assisted in all but one of his league games in 2018-19, making him great value at 11.00m.

MD – Johann Berg Gudmundsson (Burnley)
If you’re looking for a cheap midfield option, Johann Berg Gudmundsson might be your man. The 7.00m midfielder has scored one goal and set up another three this season, earning 13 points along the way.

MD – Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
Eden Hazard is back to his scintillating best this season. He has earned 36 points already — more than anyone else in the league — and he’s worth every last million of his 14.00m EPL Fantasy price tag.

ST – Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Our striker picks this week are all very costly but they should also be very rewarding. Harry Kane, valued at 14.50m, scored twice against Huddersfield last weekend and he should be in the goals again when Spurs face struggling Cardiff on Saturday.

ST – Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United)
Romelu Lukaku is a riskier option in attack, but he might be worth a look when you consider that Manchester United face Chelsea and Everton — two of his former clubs — in the next few weeks. At 12.00m, he’s earned 15 points so far this season.

ST – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)
Alexandre Lacazette has been the better of Arsenal’s two strikers this season but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang represents better value (9.00m, compared to Lacazette’s 12.00m) ahead of Sunday’s match against a Fulham side that have conceded a league-high 16 goals.
