Milan sign Rade Krunic from Empoli

After Giovanni Di Lorenzo was acquired by Napoli, Rade Krunic is the second Empoli player that not only stays in Serie A but moves to one of the bigger teams, as Milan made official the acquisition on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Bosnian international penned a five-year contract and the reported price tag is €8M.

Krunic was one of the most interesting midfielders out of the minnows in the 2018/2019, as he amassed five goals and six assists, ranking 23rd with 37 total points in his position. His playing time is unlikely to be as consistent at Milan and therefore he will not retain as much fantasy appeal, but he will get his chances and will likely be one of the first reserves once the transfer market is over. His skillset is similar to a Rossonero that is currently on the mend, Giacomo Bonaventura, whose timetable is uncertain.

Krunic already played under Marco Giampaolo in his first season in Italy in 2015/2016. He figures to be an ideal piece for a coach that likes technical box-to-box midfielders and he can also be used as trequartista if necessary. He joins Lucas Paqueta, Hakan Calhanoglu, Franck Kessie and Lucas Biglia in that departement, while Andrea Bertolacci, José Mauri nd Riccardo Montolivo left as free agents.
