Preview of this weekend’s Premier League action

There are some great fixtures to look forward to in the Premier League over the next few days.

Manchester City and Spurs meet on Saturday evening in the heavyweight clash of the weekend.

Liverpool travel to Southampton on Saturday after playing 120 gruelling minutes in the Turkish heat on Wednesday night. A win there would be a massive result for The Reds, given the circumstances.

Wolves play Manchester United at Molineux in the first Monday Night Football game of the season.

Arsenal v Burnley

Key men: Aubameyang (Arsenal); Barnes (Burnley)

Prediction: Arsenal 2 – 1 Burnley

Both sides started their Premier League campaigns with a win last weekend. Arsenal should make their home advantage count and win a close encounter with Burnley.

Aston Villa v Bournemouth

Key men: McGinn (Aston Villa); Fraser (Bournemouth)

Prediction: Aston Villa 1 – 1 Bournemouth

Premier League football returns to Villa Park. Dean Smith’s team was unlucky to lose at Spurs last weekend. A point at home to Bournemouth will get them off the mark this season.

Brighton v West Ham United

Key men: Gross (Brighton); Anderson (West Ham)

Prediction: Brighton 2 – 2 West Ham

West Ham fell to a heavy home defeat against Manchester City while Brighton won at Watford in their opening game. The Hammers will be eager to bounce back with at least a point at Brighton.

Everton v Watford

Key men: Sigurdsson (Everton); Pereyra (Watford)

Prediction: Everton 1 – 0 Watford

Watford could be looking at two defeats in a row here as they face a tough trip to Goodison Park.

Norwich City v Newcastle United

Key men: Pukki (Norwich); Almiron (Newcastle)

Prediction: Norwich 2 – 1 Newcastle

Teemu Pukki showed how he can cause problems for Premier League defences with his well-taken goal at Anfield last Friday night. Norwich should have enough to cause problems for Steve Bruce’s Newcastle.

Southampton v Liverpool

Key men: Redmond (Southampton); Firmino (Liverpool)

Prediction: Southampton 1 – 3 Liverpool

Liverpool will be out on their feet after Wednesday night’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Chelsea in Istanbul. Saturday’s game at St Mary’s will be a real slog for them but they should manage all three points.

Manchester City v Spurs

Key men: Sterling (Manchester City); Kane (Spurs)

Prediction: Manchester City 3 – 1 Spurs

Should be an exciting game but City already look unstoppable so will get the win over Spurs.

Sheffield United v Crystal Palace

Key men: McBurnie (Sheffield United); Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 1 Crystal Palace

Tough match to call. A draw game is very possible here.

Chelsea v Leicester City

Key men: Kante (Chelsea); Maddison (Leicester)

Prediction: Chelsea 1 – 1 Leicester City

Another close encounter but a tired Chelsea side may have to settle for a draw.

Wolves v Manchester United

Key men: Neves (Wolves); Rashford (Manchester United)

Prediction: Wolves 1 – 2 Manchester United

United to continue their impressive start with a good win at Molineux.
