Serie A Injury and Suspensions Report – Round Four

Atalanta: Luis Muriel tweaked his knee against Genoa but he was available versus Dinamo Zagreb, so he avoided significant problems.

Bologna: Blerin Dzemaili picked up a calf ailment but he made the squad list. Danilo remains out with a thigh strain.

Brescia: Daniele Dessena is suspended and Mario Balotelli will serve the final game of his disqualification. Bruno Martella (calf) and Giangiacomo Magnani, Ernesto Torregrossa (quad) and Emanuele Ndoj (ankle shelf) stay on the shelf.

Cagliari: Radja Nainggolan was ruled out for this game too as he is recovering from a calf issue.

Fiorentina: German Pezzella subbed off late against Juventus but his calf problem should not keep him from playing this week and also Marco Benassi should be back after missing one with a bruised knee. Jacob Rasmussen is battling a viral infection. Pedro will play for a while with the Primavera team to regain some conditioning. 

Genoa: no absentees other than Stefano Sturaro, who is working his way back from an ACL tear.

Juventus: Mattia De Sciglio is considered doubtful for this one due to a thigh strain that has sidelined him for a couple of week. Douglas Costa (thigh) will have a tough time returning before the next break.

Inter: Romelu Lukaku has dealt with back issues but still played.

Lazio: Luiz Felipe was in the squad list for the Europa League match against Cluj and therefore he has shaken off his ankle problem.

Lecce: Cristian Dell’Orco, Biagio Meccariello (meniscus tear) and Riccardo Fiamozzi (herniated disk) remain on the shelf, while Giannelli Imbula (hip) and Simone Lo Faso (thigh) have recovered enough to be called up. 

Milan: Davide Calabria is suspended. Pepe Reina has missed a little of time with an undisclosed physical problem. Mattia Caldara will return later in the year from a ruptured ACL.

Napoli: Arkadiusz Milik was called up for the Liverpool match so he is ready to contribute. Kostas Manolas has a small calf problem and will be rested. Elseid Hysaj has recovered. Allan (flu) and Amin Younes (muscle fatigue) have not been called up as well. 

Parma: Alberto Grassi (knee) and Juraj Kucka (hamstring) will miss another one, while and Matteo Scozzarella (thigh) is ready to return. Kastriot Dermaku was sick earlier this week but he should be able to make the cut.

Roma: Chris Smalling is again questionable due to muscle fatigue. Davide Zappacosta (calf), Cengiz Under and Diego Perotti (thigh) are out long-term.

Sampdoria: Jakub Jankto is expected to return after missing one, while Gonzalo Maroni continues to be on the mend due to a tough ankle sprain.

Sassuolo: Francesco Magnanelli will be available after missing the first three matches, while Mehdi Bourabia will stay on the mend. Marlon and Filip Djuricic have been ruled out by the coach, but their injuries have not been specified. Rogerio is unlikely to be back before the next break from his meniscus tear.

SPAL: only Mo Fares is on the disable list with an ACL tear.

Torino: Iago Falque should be called up for this first time this season after rolling his ankle during the summer, as he played with the Primavera team last week. Salvatore Sirigu had his back checked out this week but there does not seem to be much concern about his status. Cristian Ansaldi and Vittorio Parigini are out of commission due to thigh injuries. Sasa Lukic has had a relapse of his calf injury and will miss the game. Simone Edera has recovered from offseason shoulder surgery. Nicolas N’Koulou will return only later on even though he has been reinstanted. 

Udinese: Rodrigo De Paul was hit with a three-game suspension; the club appealed but he will miss at least two. William Troost-Ekong and Stefano Okaka should be available after sitting out in the last round. Hidde Ter Avest is nursing a sore patellar tendon.

Verona: Mariusz Stepinski is disqualfieid. Salvatore Bocchetti (calf), Daniel Bessa (adductos) and Alessandro Crescenzi (thigh) will not return this week from their respective strains.
