Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 11

Atalanta: Marten De Roon is suspended. Andrea Masiello and José-Luis Palomino were available for the midweek round, so the only injured player is Duvan Zapata.

Bologna: Mitchell Dijks will remain sidelined for what is now billed more as a foot sprain than a contusion. Gary Medel is back in the squad list, while Mattia Destro and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain sidelined. Federico Santander was hit on the calf but he is available.

Brescia: Jesse Joronen is questionable due to the bruise that forced him to miss the last game. It is unlikely that there will any return among their injured players, with Giangiacomo Magnani being the closest.

Cagliari: Luca Pellegrini is disqualified. Luca Ceppitelli is unlikely to be back as he is dealing with plantar fasciitis. Valter Birsa has a foot problem as well. They have both been ruled out.

Fiorentina: German Pezzella is suspended, like Franck Ribery. Pol Lirola avoided a strain and is available for Sunday, while Martin Caceres will be out through the next break.

Genoa: Federico Marchetti was handed a two-game ban, while Francesco Cassata will miss just this one. Marko Pajac and Lukas Lerager were not dealing with major problems and are questionable for this round.

Inter: Matias Vecino and Andrea Ranocchia returned to full training and will be available against Bologna. Stefano Sensi is close too and will be available off the bench tomorrow, while Danilo D’Ambrosio needs more time. Kwadwo Asamoah has been ruled out due to knee soreness.

Juventus: Gonzalo Higuain is set to return after a blow to the head, while Miralem Pjanic remains in doubt due to a thigh ailment. Adrien Rabiot is suspended.

Lazio: Silvio Proto is nursing a wrist sprain. Lucas Leiva was spared on Wednesday but his injury was minor.

Lecce: Panagiotis Tachtsidis is disqualified. Zan Majer has shaken off some Achilles soreness, while Diego Farias is unlikely to be back soon.

Milan: Mateo Musacchio subbed off against SPAL and will miss the upcoming game, like Ricardo Rodriguez, who has skipped the last two due to a thigh problem. Suso picked up an injury on Saturday, which makes him unlikely for tomorrow.

Napoli: Kostas Manolas (ribs) and Elseid Hysaj (sternum) are on the right track after traumatic injuries. Allan sprained his right knee and damaged the popliteus tendon, but not a ligament: he is tentatively expected to miss the next three games and return after the break. Faouzi Ghoulam stays out with a thigh problem.

Parma: Vincent Laurini (head, shoulder) and Bruno Alves (thigh) are close to recovering from their injuries and could be available to play on Sunday. Giuseppe Pezzella bowed out of the last game, but it turned out to be just a knock. Andreas Cornelius and Riccardo Gagliolo have been called up despite not being totally ready to play.

Roma: Juan Jesus has been called up after skipping one, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains on the shelf. Federico Fazio is suspended.

Sampdoria: Karol Linetty is having a hard time shaking off a thigh contracture, but he should be back for this round. Their other sidelined players, Gonzalo Maroni, Morten Thorsby, Vasco Regini and Gonzalo Maroni, are not injured per se but working on their conditioning, so they could be back at any moment. Fabio Quagliarella is dealing with an adductor problem.

Sassuolo: Francesco Caputo subbed off against Fiorentina and will be forced to miss one due to a bruised tibia. Alessandro Tripaldelli and Mehdi Bourabia are the only ones with a chance to return in this round in their long list of injured players. Francesco Magnanelli might make the squad list, but he is unlikely to feature due to a quad injury.

SPAL: the coach already announced that Federico Di Francesco and Marko Jankovic will not be back this week.

Torino: Nicolas N’Koulou is suspended. Tomas Rincon was a late scratch versus Lazio, but he was able to recover enough to be called up. Iago Falque picked up a thigh injury on Friday.

Udinese: Mato Jajalo is disqualified, Jens Larsen continues to deal with a thigh issue.

Verona: it should not be long before Daniel Bessa and Alessandro Crescenzi are ready to return, but they are unlikely for this week, while Giampaolo Pazzini and Salvatore Bocchetti will be out for longer. Pawel Dawidowicz missed the midweek round with an undisclosed injury, but he will be available on Sunday.
