Serie A Round 25 Fantacalcio Player Trends: Stock Up

We are back with another round of Serie A football this weekend, which means it is also time for you to start sorting out your fantacalcio rosters to ensure you stay on track in your leagues. But, before we get into all that, let’s briefly recap the previous round!

Lecce continued their climb out from the bottom of the table with a big 2-1 win over SPAL, while Genoa’s 3-0 victory over Bologna will surely help their own cause for survival.

After falling behind from an Edin Dzeko goal, Atalanta reversed the tie and managed to pull two back through Jose Luis Palomino and Mario Pasalic to hand Roma a 2-1 defeat.

Juventus returned to winning ways at home without Cristiano Ronaldo as Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado led the club to a 2-0 result over Brescia. Fiorentina thrashed Sampdoria 1-5, Napoli squeaked on past Cagliari 0-1 and Lazio moved into second place with a thrilling 2-1 win at home over Inter.

Alright, now let’s get into why you are all here with our five players to consider adding to your fantacalcio squads ahead of round 25.

Hans Hateboer (DEF, Atalanta, Value 11.20) - In Gian Piero Gasperini’s system, fullbacks tend to thrive, initiating those inverting runs and getting involved in Serie A’s most offensively potent side. With Hans Hateboer, we saw this on Wednesday as he pulled two goals for himself in Atalanta’s commanding 4-1 win over Valencia in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. Now, seeing as the Dutchman has only the two goals this entire club season, one would say this is just a one off performance. To that we say the 26-year old can certainly turn this into some good momentum to become more involved offensively going forward. At 11.20, Hateboer holds pretty solid value this weekend at home vs. Sassuolo.

Ante Rebić (ATT, Milan, Value 7.46) - Few players in Serie A have had better turnarounds to their season than Ante Rebic. The Croatian arrived on a two-year loan from Frankfurt this past summer, and was used very little in the first half of the season which nearly led to an early termination of his time at Milan. However, Stefano Pioli has made him a key part to his 442 and now he is thriving, delivering big match-winning goals in key moments for the Rossoneri. Scoring six goals since the start of 2020, the 26-year old is a must start for the Milanese club as long as he is fit, which means 7.46 is sensational value considering his hot form here. Milan visit Fiorentina this weekend, so scoop up the Croatian now.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savić (MID, Lazio, Value 18.46) - Safe to say it. SMS has returned to the form from two years ago that made him one of Europe’s top young midfielders. Last Sunday, it was his goal that fueled Lazio to victory over Inter 2-1. Overall, the Serbian’s performance was top notch; 3 shots (2 on target), 1 goal, 8 aerials won, 3 dribbles won and 2 successful tackles. As a multi-faceted, versatile midfield player who defends, attacks, creates and wins the ball, Milinkovic-Savic is the caliber of player that is tipped for a big move sooner or later, but for now he belongs to Lazio and is a must play regardless of the opponent. Insert SMS with confidence this weekend as the Biancocelesti visit Genoa.

Marco Mancosu (MID, Lecce, Value 13.16) - You would probably be lying if you said you did not have Lecce in your relegation predictions. However, that is no longer important. What is important is that the Salentini are heading for shelter and their recent run of form says safety is in the horizon. Fabio Liverani has been aided by several unsung heroes of late, none more impactful than Marco Mancosu. The captain has posted respectable numbers this season in 19 appearances with 8 goals and 1 assists. Together with Filippo Falco and Gianluca Lapadula, Mancosu has put Lecce safely into 16th for the time being. If the newly promoted side are to keep this momentum going on the road vs Roma this weekend, then Mancosu must deliver the goods again. At 13.16, the Italian may be worth a hard look against a struggling Giallorossi who cannot seem to get on track here in 2020.

Marcelo Brozovic (MID, Inter, Value 17.28) - Though his future at Inter remained in doubt for quite a while, Antonio Conte’s firm appraisal of Marcelo Brozovic to play a key role this season has paid dividends. The Croatian is providing real balance to the midfield, while also delivering big performances when the Nerazzurri are injury depleted and needing it most. His goal sparked the comeback win over Milan two weeks ago and he remains a key member at the heart of Conte’s revolution. Inter will look to bounce back after a defeat last weekend to Lazio as they host Sampdoria, and we fully expect the 27-year old to come good on the 17.28 price tag.
