Italian Football Predictions – Round 30

Juventus-Torino: the Bianconeri have won three in a row after the resumption, five overall in Serie A play, and have looked increasingly good in the last two rounds. After an initial spurt in mid-June, the Granata have gone in the wrong direction, dropping the last two and faring unconvincingly: 2-0.

Sassuolo-Lecce: the Neroverdi have scored three times in each of the last five matches, but somehow prevailed in just one, most recently in Florence. After the difficult bouts with Juventus and Milan, the Giallorossi could not take advantage of the head-to-head clash with Sampdoria and have lost five straight: 3-1.

Lazio-Milan: the Biancocelesti came back in the past two outings, but now are facing the challenge of playing without their top gun Ciro Immobile. They have been successful in six of last seven rounds. The Rossoneri shot themselves in the foot in Ferrara against SPAL by going down two-nothing in the score, which prevented them from amassing a three-game winning streak: 1-1.

Inter-Bologna: the Nerazzurri finally had a thoroughly satisfying performance against Brescia, the first one after Serie A’s return even though they had won two of the previous three. Four points for Bologna in the last two tilts as they downed Sampdoria and shared the spoils with Cagliari. The Felsinei have been feisty away, but the Meneghini tend to find a way: 3-2.

Brescia-Verona: the Rondinelle are coming off their worst loss of the season against Inter, but had salvaged points in the previous two matches, the Scaligeri outlasted Parma to nab the second win in the past four games and appear to be getting in rhythm: 1-3.

Cagliari-Atalanta: the Rossoblù have gotten out of their lengthy pre-lockdown decline by racking up seven points in the last three fixtures, as they bested SPAL and Torino and equalized with Bologna. However, the Bergamaschi are the hottest team as they won four in a row, including the bouts with Lazio and Napoli: 1-2.

Parma-Fiorentina: the Ducali lost two consecutive matches in fairly unlucky fashion versus Inter and Verona, as they were very competitive in both. The Viola were dismantled by Sassuolo after going toe-to-toe with Lazio and drawing with Brescia, so they have been inconsistent one way or the other: 1-1.

Sampdoria-SPAL: the Blucerchiati squeaked one out in typical fashion in Lecce, returning to winning ways after three straight 1-2 defeats. The Estensi almost got Milan, but at least picked up a point after two Ls. Sampdoria are resourceful and usually take advantage of this kind of match-ups: 1-0.

Udinese-Genoa: the Bianconeri finally got the monkey off their back by convincingly toppling Roma after nine winless rounds. The Grifone has not played well in the last three, as it capitulated against Parma and Juventus and tied with Brescia: 1-0.

Napoli-Roma: the Partenopei’s winning streak came to an end after five tilts due to a poor second half in Bergamo. The Giallorossi are floundering and have not gotten anything going in the last two displays against Milan and Udinese: 2-0.
