5 of the best La Liga transfers during the window

The summer transfer window is now closed around Europa and Spanish La Liga clubs have made a lot of business during the summer and first couple of weeks of the 2020-21 season.

New arrivals were landed as late as deadline day on Monday and managers have a fortnight to put their new plans in place due to the international break.

Here’s a look back over the transfer window to five players we believe could have the biggest impact on your fantasy team this season:

1. Luis Suarez (Atletico Madrid)
The Uruguayan had a quiet end to his career at Barcelona by his standards but showed he still has it with a brace in his 12-minute Atletico Madrid debut in the 6-1 thrashing of Granada.

Luis Suarez may be considered a gamble for your fantasy team because he will set you back £10.50m, but with Diego Costa seeing a lack of game time and Joao Felix not putting up the goals in his first season, the 33-year-old could quickly establish himself as Diego Simeone’s main goalscorer.

2. Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona)
Not strictly a transfer more than a loan return, Philippe Coutinho was unavailable in fantasy football last season whilst he was busy winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich, so the attacking midfielder makes our list.

The Brazilian has already scored and assisted twice in his first three La Liga games this season and looks set to have his most productive campaign for the Catalan club so far. Luis Suarez’s departure may not only see the former Liverpool man get more playing time but also more influence on the pitch as well.

3. Martin Odegaard (Real Madrid)
Having spent the past three seasons away on loan, Martin Odegaard is being given his chance at the Santiago Bernabeu this season. The 21-year-old Norwegian international was handed his first start in Real Madrid colours in the number 10 role in their first game of the new campaign.

If Odegaard can impress the French manager then there’s every reason he’ll become a regular in the team this season and at just £5.00m for your fantasy team this would make him a bargain.

4. David Silva (Real Sociedad)
David Silva has started three of Real Sociedad’s first four games so the experienced playmaker looks set to be a regular in the first team following his free transfer arrival from Manchester City.

As he’s showed us for more than a decade, the Spanish wizard is both a playmaker and a goalscorer and that’s what you want out of the midfielders in your fantasy team.

5. Suso (Sevilla)
Sevilla made a number of signings this summer as they look to finish in the top four once again. One of those players was forward Suso from AC Milan. The fee suggests he’s set to be a regular first team player and has started in two of their three games.

He was both a goalscorer and playmaker and in Italy and with a fee of just £2.50m for your fantasy team he should not be overlooked.
