Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 11

Atalanta: Robin Gosens was a false positive and played midweek. Aleksey Miranchuk is dealing with COVID, Mario Pasalic with some sort of sports-hernia that cost him few matches already.

Bologna: Lukas Skorupski has a fractured phalanx in the fourth finger of his left hand and will probably return in January. They could welcome back some of their long-time injured players as Andreas Skov Olsen (back) and Mitchell Dijks have resumed working with the rest of the group. Stefano Denswil and Andrea Poli missed the previous match with minor ailments and could be back here.

Cagliari: Giovanni Simeone, Andreas Pereiro and Nahitan Nandez have turned negative and the matter for them is now to work on their form. Diego Godin and Adam Ounas instead are still positive. Fabio Pisacane will be back after a stomach bug, while Ragnar Klavan could miss another one with muscle fatigue, even though the tests ruled out more serious issues.

Crotone: Jacopo Petriccione was red-carded last week. Ahmad Benali subbed off early but his problem is not severe and he might gut it out Saturday despite an irregular week of practice. Andrea Rispoli (knee) and Luca Cigarini (calf) are close but will not be available this week as well.

Fiorentina: Gaetano Castrovilli is trying to shake off a hip contusion.

Genoa: Federico Marchetti and Cristian Zapata both picked up thigh strains in the last match and will be out for two-to-three weeks. Mattia Perin has a shot to return from the same injury. Filippo Melegoni (thigh), Domenico Criscito (knee) and Davide Zappacosta (thigh) have resumed training somewhat regularly but they will likely some more time. Vittorio Parigini and Francesco Cassata (thigh) are instead poised to be shelved again.

Andrea Pinamonti (ankle) and Radja Nainggolan (calf) have been out for a while. Aleksandar Kolarov made the bench in Champions League for the first time since getting COVID.

Napoli: Elseid Hysaj and Amir Rrahmani had a little setback in their return from COVID, but that already happened to other players before. Victor Osimhen is not distant from coming back from his shoulder sprain but it might not happen this week either.

Parma: Wylan Cyprien (thigh), Simon Sohm (thigh), Giuseppe Pezzella (thigh) and Valentin Mihaila (groin) were able to practice late in the week and have a decent shot at returning from their injuries. Juraj Kucka was a late scratch last week because of a knock on the back of his leg and he remains iffy. Vincent Laurini (calf) and Alberto Grassi (shoulder) are out.

Roma: Pedro was sent off last week. Lorenzo Pellegrini (ankle) and Jordan Veretout (thigh) are expected to be available but will be assessed until the last minute, while Gianluca Mancini and Davide Santon will likely miss another one with their muscular problems. Chris Smalling returned in Europa League after being on the mend with knee soreness. Antonio Mirante is questionable with an unspecified physical problem.
