Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 12

Atalanta: Aleksey Miranchuk has cleared the COVID protocol and has been called up. Mario Pasalic will undergo sport-hernia surgery and return in January. Matteo Ruggeri (fatigue) and Josip Ilicic (strep throat) are questionable.

Benevento: Nicolas Viola has returned after some physical problems, while Gabriele Moncini (ankle), Christian Maggio (calf) and Luca Caldirola (knee) remain sidelined.

Bologna: Stefano Denswil and Mitchell Dijks (toe) have been called up, whileNicola Sansone (hip), Andreas Skov Olsen and Jerdy Schouten are out, but their issues are not severe. Aaron Hickey tested positive for COVID. Riccardo Orsolini is out with a thigh strain, Lukas Skorupski with a fractured finger. Ibrahima Mbaye picked up a thigh strain as well in the last match and will be out for 40 days.

Cagliari: Gaston Pereiro will return as he has tested negative few days ago, while Diego Godin did it very recently and will remain sidelined. Adam Ounas is the only remaining player with Coronavirus. Alessandro Tripaldelli might miss another one with an adductor pull.

Crotone: Lisandro Magallan is suspended, Ahmad Benali has not been called up because of a calf issue, like Luca Cigarini, who has missed few matches. Andrea Rispoli is part of the squad list after a knee sprain.

Fiorentina: Cristiano Biraghi, Erick Pulgar and Alfred Duncan are banged up but available.

Genoa: Milan Badelj (thigh) and Domenico Criscito (knee) are expected to return from their physical problems and also Davide Zappacosta (thigh) is progressing, but probably will not be called up. Vittorio Parigini, Francesco Cassata, Federico Marchetti and Cristian Zapata, all dealing with thigh injuries, are on the mends, while Davide Biraschi will miss months with his shoulder sprain.

Inter: Achraf Hakimi is questionable with a bruised ankle but trending positively, while Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez will most likely miss the midweek clash with thigh ailments. Andrea Pinamonti (ankle) and Radja Nainggolan (calf) could miss another one.

Juventus:  Merih Demiral will miss another one with a thigh, while Giorgio Chiellini has recovered. 

Lazio: Francesco Acerbi suffered a low degree thigh strain. Jean-Daniele Akpa Akpro is suspended. Luis Alberto is expected back after sitting out one, like Patric that had a stiff neck, instead Lucas Leiva and Mohamed Fares took some tests yesterday for potential injuries. Vedat Muriqi (thigh) and Denis Vavro (groin) probably will not be back in this one.

Milan: Matteo Gabbia suffered a MCL sprain in the left knee and will likely be sidelined for a month, while Ismael Bennacer picked up a flexor strain and will return in early 2021. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has just an outside shot of coming back here from his thigh strain, while Simon Kjaer will remain sidelined by the same problem. Alexis Saelemaekers is expected back from an illness.

Napoli: Elseid Hysaj and Amir Rrahmani are looking to regain the best form after COVID. Victor Osimhen has flown to Belgium to complete his rehab from a shoulder sprain.

Parma: Juraj Kucka is good to go after missing time with a sore thigh. Valentin Mihaila (groin) and Vincent Laurini (groin) will probably sit out another one.

Roma: Bryan Cristante was suspended for blasphemy. Gianluca Mancini and Davide Santon are progressing from thigh injuries and could be available. Antonio Mirante is hampered by a hand contusion.

Sampdoria: Morten Thorsby is out with yellow-card accumulation, Balde Keita and Bartosz Bereszynski with thigh strains. Antonio Candreva is out because of a technical choice. 

Sassuolo: Lukas Haraslin was red-carded last week. Among the injured players, Vlad Chiriches, Francesco Caputo and Gregoire Defrel are all back from thigh injuries. 

Spezia: M’Bala Nzola should be available after sitting out the previous game for personal reasons. Daniele Verde picked up a new injury in his return and is undergoing some tests. Juan Ramos, Leo Sena, Federico Mattiello and Cristiano Dell’Orco should not be too distant from returning but it may not happen in this round either.

Torino: Cristian Ansaldi could return after some fatigue, while Simone Zaza picked up a thigh pull in practice and will be out for some time. Simone Verdi and Vincenzo Millico are set to stay out with similar problems. 

Udinese: Stefano Okaka will undergo surgery to remove a hematoma in his thigh and will return in January. Fernando Forestieri (thigh), Thomas Ouwejan, Sebastien De Maio and Nicolas (COVID) did not make the squad list. Bram Nuytinck suffered a calf problem in the last game.

Verona: Mert Cetin, Nikola Kalinic and Rolando Vieira, all nursing thigh problems, are considered unlikely to be back in this round, while Marco Benassi (calf) continues to be MIA. Andrea Favilli suffered a thigh strain.
