Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 15

Atalanta: Matteo Ruggeri will be back after missing time with a thigh injury, while Rafael Toloi is out. Mario Pasalic will return in mid-January after sports-hernia surgery, similar target for Matteo Caldara (patellar tendon) has been called up after months. Cristiano Piccini is back on the shelf. 

Benevento: Perparim Hetemaj is fine after a calf problem, while Christian Maggio and Iago Falque is are out with the same issue. Luca Caldirola (knee) will skip the next three games. Nicolas Viola has been scratched again. 

Bologna: Aaron Hickey shook off COVID and is available, like Federico Ravaglia (ankle) and Andreas Skov Olsen (back), who has spent months on the shelf. Lorenzo De Silvestri has recovered from a bruised thigh, while Nicola Sansone (hip), Lukas Skorupski (fractured finger) and Ibrahima Mbaye (thigh strain) will miss at least the next three games. Gary Medel is out with a calf contracture. 

Cagliari: Ragnar Klavan and Simone Aresti turned negative, but are not ready to play. Diego Godin picked up a small calf problem and is out, like Paolo Faragò with a sore thigh. Marko Rog tore his ACL and is unlikely to return before the end of the season. Adam Ounas has been ruled out by the coach because of an undiclosed problem. Zito Luvumbo had a set back in his recovery from a thigh injury and is expected back in February. 

Crotone: Luca Cigarini seemed poised to return but his calf is bothering him again. Andrea Rispoli (knee) and Ahmad Benali (calf) are fifty/fifty for this round.

Fiorentina: Cristiano Biraghi is suspended, Patrick Cutrone is dealing with some back pain.

Genoa: Christian Zapata is back after a thigh strain, while Federico Marchetti, Luca Pellegrini, Francesco Cassata and Vittorio Parigini will miss some more time with the same problem. Stefano Sturaro picked up one more recently and will return in the back end of January. Goran Pandev is out with muscle fatigue. 

Inter: Alexis Sanchez is likely to be return after an adductor issue. Andrea Pinamonti (ankle) and Matias Vecino (knee) are iffy.

Juventus: Matthijs De Ligt, Merih Demiral and Giorgio Chiellini are all set to be available after thigh injuries of various nature and severity. Juan Cuadrado is suspended.

Lazio: Francesco Acerbi and Lucas Leiva are set to come back after muscular problems. Luiz Felipe and Marco Parolo are instead dealing with ankle injuries and are iffy. Joaquin Correa will miss at least three contests with a calf pull. Senad Lulic (ankle) and Mohamed Fares (calf) are not ready to return.

Milan: Simon Kjaer is slated to return after a thigh strain, instead Zlatan Ibrahimovic (calf) and Ismael Bennacer (thigh) will sit out at least the next two matches. Alexis Saelemaekers suffered a thigh problem and will be re-evaluated in ten days. Samu Castillejo has shaken off some thigh tightness. Theo Hernandez is suspended due to yellow-card accumulation. Matteo Gabbia is nursing a knee injury.

Napoli: Diego Demme is fine after a knock, instead Kalidou Koulibaly will not return right away from a thigh strain. Dries Mertens (ankle sprain) is out this week but should be back sooner rather than later. Victor Osimhen (shoulder) was close to being cleared from his shoulder sprain but contracted Coronavirus. Kevin Malcuit is nursing some calf fatigue.

Parma: Vincent Laurini (thigh) is available and the same goes, for the first time in the season, also for Valentin Mihaila following sports-hernia surgery. Matteo Scozzarella is healthy, but he is about to move to Monza. Gervinho instead has been recovering from his thigh problem in his home country and there is no telling when he will return. Giuseppe Pezzella (thigh) is not ready. Alberto Grassi will miss at least three more weeks with his shoulder sprain.

Roma: Pedro has had a little muscular hiccup in practice and is questionable. Leonardo Spinazzola and Antonio Mirante are recovering from flexor strains: the former will be back before the latter. Javier Pastore practiced after months on the shelf following hip surgery. Nicolò Zaniolo will be back in the Spring. Riccardo Calafiori is being evaluated for a thigh injury and Federico Fazio has been scratched because of a sore knee. 

Sampdoria: Balde Keita was sent off in the last game. Morten Thorsby and Jakub Jankto should be okay despite subbing off in the previous match. Bartosz Bereszynski has been called up despite not being totally ready after a thigh strain, while Alex Ferrari will miss some more time with the same issue. 

Sassuolo: Filip Djuricic, Nicolas Schiappacasse and Gregoire Defrel are set to return after skipping the past match and Rogerio (ankle) joins them despite practicing in limited fashion in recent days. Filippo Romagna is recovering from a patellar tendon tear.

Spezia: there will not be many returns as Salvador Ferrer (thigh), Cristiano Dell’Orco (thigh) and Daniele Verde (thigh) are the only ones with some chances, while Leo Sena (calf), Federico Mattiello, Jeroen Zoet and Andrej Galabinov (thigh) will stay out until second half of January. Claudio Terzi is suspended. Matteo Ricci and Gennaro Acampora tested positive for COVID. 

Torino: Nicola Murru and Federico Bonazzoli will return after thigh injuries, while Cristian Ansaldi and Vincenzo Millico remain shelved. Daniele Baselli is back in the squad list months after an ACL tear.

Udinese: Gerard Deulofeu was stomped on in the past game but did not suffer major issues, howeer he is not available due to an edema. Thomas Ouwejan is on the mend due lack of conditioning, while Bram Nuytinck (calf) will continue to miss time in January. Stefano Okaka is recuperating after thigh surgery and will skip the next three. Rodrigo Becao is suspended. Nahuel Molina is back. 

Verona: Pawel Dawidowicz and Matteo Lovato escaped without major issues despite bowing out in the past match. Nikola Kalinic should be available for at least a stint. Andrea Favilli and Samuel Di Carmine are instead expected to stay on the mend, while Ronaldo Vieira (thigh) and Marco Benassi (thigh) are ways away from coming back.
