Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 22

Atalanta: Hans Hateboer and Joakim Maehle are both trying to solve foot problems, with the latter having way better chances to be available than the former and he has indeed been called upRafael Toloi is suspended.

Benevento: Riccardo Improta and Artur Ionita are disqualified. Gabriele Moncini is back after missing time with an ankle sprain, while Gaetano Letizia remains shelved.

Bologna: Mattias Svanberg is out due to yellow-card accumulation. Gary Medel (calf) and Paolo Faragò (thigh) were again excluded from the squad list.

Cagliari: Luca Ceppitelli and Riccardo Sottil will remain sidelined with muscular issues, while Alfred Duncan (thigh) and Alessandro Deiola (ankle) are back Charalampos Lykogiannis subbed off last week due to a blow to the knee, but the tests ruled out structural damage and he has been deemed fit enough as well. Ragnar Klavan is available after quite some time on the shelf following COVID. 

Crotone: Ahmad Benali appeared to pick up a calf problem last week and he is indeed out, while Arkadiusz Reca was a late scratch with a quad contracture but he has been called up. Luca Cigarini is finally on his way back after months. Salvatore Molina (shoulder) and Giuseppe Cuomo (hip) are on the mend.

Fiorentina: Sofyan Amrabat is suspended. Martin Caceres (back) will return, while Franck Ribery experienced a setback late in the week and will stay shelved. 

Genoa: Eldor Shomurodov, Andrea Masiello, Marko Pjaca Cristian Zapata (calf) all returned to full practice after sitting out the past game and will be available. Also Alberto Paleari and Francesco Cassata remain sidelined and also Davide Biraschi (shoulder) needs some more time. Milan Badelj is suspended.

Inter: Arturo Vidal is trying to shake off a left knee contusion.

Juventus: Arthur is out due to a knock to the lower leg. Paulo Dybala (knee) and Aaron Ramsey (thigh) will not return, Leonardo Bonucci (thigh) is not dealing with anything major but will likely be spared in this one. Weston McKennie could be limited by a sore hip.

Lazio: Danilo Cataldi should be back from a thigh strain, while Thomas Strakosha could spend some more time on the mend with a knee issue. Stefan Radu is questionable. 

Milan: Ismael Bennacer has recovered from bronchitis, while Sandro Tonali will be a late call due to bursitis in his knee. Simon Kjaer should be cleared to return. while Brahim Diaz will out a little longer with similar thigh injuries. Davide Calabria is disqualified.

Napoli: Diego Demme (quad) and Elseid Hysaj (calf) got hurt in Coppa Italia and will be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Dries Mertens (ankle) is still in Belgium. Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam have COVID, Kostas Manolas a bad ankle.

Parma: Simone Iacoponi (knee) and Giuseppe Pezzella (thigh) should be back in the squad list after skipping the last tilt. Roberto Inglese re-joined the team after missing time for personal reasons, but he is not ready to contribute. Andreas Cornelius pulled the adductor muscles in his left thigh but he will not miss time. while Hernani picked up a similar problem late in the week and he is out. Vincent Laurini, Maxime Busi and Lautaro Valenti will stay out of commission with thigh strains. Graziano Pellè is out with a late calf injury. 

Roma: Pedro is expected back from his thigh strain, while Chris Smalling will remain on the shelf. Franck Reynolds is working on his conditioning and will not be available, while Stephan El Shaarawy is good to go. Federico Fazio is back, while Juan Jesus is not. Marash Kumbulla and Riccardo Calafiori are late scratches. 

Sampdoria: Manolo Gabbiadini has resumed practicing in full after sports hernia surgery and he has rejoned the call-ups. Alex Tonelli is suspended. Antonino La Gumina and Kaique Rocha are out.

Sassuolo: Gianmarco Ferrari is out due to yellow-card accumulation. Jeremie Boga will miss two-to-three weeks with a flexor pull in the left thigh. Mehdi Bourabia is out of commission with a thigh injury as well. Vlad Chiriches has been ruled out late with an ailment. 

Spezia: M’Bala Nzola (ankle), Roberto Piccoli (thigh) and Federico Mattiello (thigh) have practiced with the rest of the team late in the week, but they were again excluded from the squad list. They should be back next weekClaudio Terzi will sit three-to-four weeks with an adductor strain in the right thigh, Diego Farias a couple with a post-traumatic pull of the left adductor.

Torino: Mergim Vojvoda has worked his way back from a shoulder sprain, while Antonio Sanabria (Coronavirus) is self-isolating.

Udinese: Roberto Pereyra pulled the flexor in his right thigh but the injury is less severe than originally though and he will be back in two-to-three weeks. Fernando Forestieri (thigh) will be back anytime now.

Verona: Marco Davide Faraoni and Marco Zaccagni are suspended. Andrea Favilli (thigh), Kevin Ruegg (ankle) and Miguel Veloso (calf) have decent chances to be available, Federico Ceccherini (thigh) and Marco Benassi (thigh) instead are out.
