AC Milan 2-1 Genoa: Rossoneri secure three hard-fought points in dramatic fashion

Milan needed to get the job done at San Siro this afternoon – following four games without a win at the stadium – and they succeeded against Genoa. However, the Rossoneri had to fight extremely hard to secure the three points and it was yet another nail-biter for the fans.

As things stand, Stefano Pioli’s men are now seven points clear of fifth place and at least two of their rivals will drop points today (Atalanta-Juventus, Napoli-Inter). The Champions League race is still very tight but the win was a must for the Rossoneri this afternoon and it was nice to see them win at San Siro again. Continue reading

AC Milan vs. Genoa: Serie A Round 31 – Team news, stats and prediction

After the win away at Parma, which was anything but easy, Milan will be looking to add another three points to their tally this afternoon. While they will take on Genoa at San Siro, some of their rivals in the Champions League race will face each other and this means a leap could be made point-wise.

Stefano Pioli’s men have managed to pick themselves up after what was a tough start to the year, struggling with several key absences. Having said that, their record at home is still very disappointing and this needs changing, seeing as they haven’t registered a single win in the last four league games at San Siro.  Continue reading

Parma 1-3 AC Milan: Top three performers as Rossoneri secure three crucial points

Milan were heading towards a comfortable win earlier this evening, with a 2-0 lead in the bag, but then Zlatan Ibrahimovic got sent off and Parma pulled one back. In the end, after what was a very nervy period, the Rossoneri secured the win thanks to a goal from Rafael Leao in stoppage time.

Stefano Pioli’s men looked a lot better than the performance against Sampdoria and had a 2-0 lead already in half-time. Ante Rebic opened the scoring with a great effort and Franck Kessie doubled the lead just before the break, scoring his 10th league goal of the season. It looked very comfortable, in other words.  Continue reading

Parma vs. AC Milan: Serie A Round 30 – Team news, stats and prediction

Milan didn’t get the best of starts to their season finally as they got just one point from the clash against Sampdoria last weekend. Therefore, it will be very important for them to bounce back with a win against Parma tomorrow, which really is a must if you look at the season the respective sides have had.

Stefano Pioli’s men looked very lacklustre last time out and were saved by Jens Petter Hauge, who came off the bench and beautifully scored the equaliser. Based on the majority of the game, in fact, the Rossoneri barely deserved one point and it’s interesting to think they were just about denied the win by the woodwork.  Continue reading

AC Milan 1-1 Sampdoria: Rossoneri rightfully disappointed after just about clinching one point

Milan were hoping to secure another three points and put some pressure on their city rivals Inter this afternoon. However, they failed to do so and only just about got away with one point against Sampdoria, who were the better side for most of the game. A big disappointment, therefore, for the Rossoneri.

After the win against Fiorentina, you would have expected a bit more grit to Milan’s performance this afternoon but that wasn’t the case at all. Sampdoria started the game very well and put the home side under tremendous pressure for several minutes, though failing to find the back of the net.  Continue reading

AC Milan vs. Sampdoria: Serie A Round 29 – Team news, stats and prediction

As the international break has come to an end, Milan are gearing up to take on Sampdoria in just a few hours, with an unusual kick-off time of 12:30 CEST on a Saturday. Of course, this is because of the Easter celebrations, but hopefully it won’t distract the team from getting the job done.

Stefano Pioli’s men claimed a necessary win away at Fiorentina ahead of the break, turning a deficit into a lead in the second half. Despite conceding twice, it was certainly a strong performance from the Rossoneri and they will most likely be in a good mood for today’s clash.  Continue reading

Fiorentina 2-3 AC Milan: Top three performers as Rossoneri secure three huge points

Milan made the most of Juve’s loss to Benevento earlier today as they secured three huge points away at Fiorentina, despite going down in the second half. It’s a performance that bodes well for the upcoming games, as the Rossoneri regained their fighting spirit and also found the back of the net, three times.

Stefano Pioli’s men have received some criticism lately for their play in the final third, having squandered way too many chances. Luckily, the attack came back to life today and it was certainly needed as Fiorentina scored twice, first to equalise and then to take the lead in the second half.  Continue reading

Fiorentina vs. AC Milan: Serie A Round 28 – Team news, stats and prediction

Milan seemed to be back on the right track after the wins against Roma and Hellas Verona, excluding the mid-week draw against Udinese, but then they suffered a tough defeat to Napoli. And on Thursday evening, they were knocked out of the Europa League. In other words, they need to bounce back tomorrow.

The Rossoneri will face Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi, hoping to build on their impressive away form and the 2-0 win in the reverse fixture. Despite what the results might show, Milan actually haven’t been that bad in the last few games, but they have been truly terrible in the final third Continue reading

AC Milan 0-1 Man Utd (1-2 agg.): Rossoneri punished by defensive mistake and missed chances

Milan managed to get a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last week and their chances of going through to the next round very decent ahead of tonight’s game. However, Man Utd scored the only goal at San Siro after a mistake at the back by the Rossoneri, who have themselves to blame.

Much like the first leg, the performance was far from terrible by Stefano Pioli’s side and you could even argue that they were the better side overall. Having said that, when it came to the ever-so-important final touch, it’s clear that Man Utd edged Milan in both of the games.  Continue reading

AC Milan vs. Napoli: Serie A Round 27 – Team news, stats and prediction

After what was a positive outing against Man Utd, eventually earning a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Simon Kjaer equaliser, Milan will be looking to pick up another good result on Sunday evening. However, it won’t be easy for the Rossoneri as they will take on 6th-placed Napoli at San Siro.

Milan secured an important away win against Hellas Verona at the weekend and the result against Man Utd has only boosted their confidence. Tomorrow evening, therefore, it will be important for them to continue their positive run and also improve their home record, which hasn’t been great.  Continue reading
