After a poor start to their 2019/20 campaign, it was inevitable that fingers would be pointed at Barcelona’s players.
Although they’re only two points behind leaders Real Madrid after seven games, the manner of their victories hasn’t enthused the fan base, and the inability to keep a clean sheet – just one in La Liga so far – has been a cause for concern too.

As ever during the summer months, each club is looking to improve their squad, so when Barca added Arturo Vidal, Clement Lenglet, Arthur and, at the 11th hour, Malcom, supporters were a little underwhelmed.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Jerome Boateng came to an end with less than 24 hours remaining before the English transfer deadline day closed. It’s a deal that many had expected to go through with the Premier League outfit so desperately needing a central defender but it’s a move that failed to materialise. But with the French and German windows still open, it would be wise for Bayern Munich to cash in on the 29-year-old before it’s too late.
