Serie A Fantasy Picks – Round 26

Marco Silvestri: Verona and their stifling defence will visit an undermanned Sampdoria squad on Monday. The Scaligeri have not given up more than one goal in the past eight rounds.

Kostas Manolas: Napoli can be very stingy when they want to be, as evidenced by the Barcelona clash, and Torino have been incredibly subpar offensively over the last two months. Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Mario Rui have more upside than the Greek centre-back, but it is possible that the coach rotates the squad a bit. Continue reading

Serie A Match of the Round – Verona vs Torino

Verona’s brilliant three-goal comeback earned them and Torino of the honours of being picked as best match in round 16.

The Scaligeri had lost three of the previous four matches against Inter, Roma and Atalanta, while the Granata were in a groove as they had prevailed in two in a row, over Genoa and Fiorentina.

Serie A Best XI – Round Ten

Marco Silvestri (7 points): Hellas Verona has been a well-oiled defensive machine so far, conceding the fewest goals out of anybody in the League, even the top dogs. Serie A Fantasy Picks – Round Seven

German Pezzella: he dominated in San Siro against Milan and could be in for another strong display against Udinese, which have found the target just three times so far, the worst clip in the League, and have been shut-out on the road. Continue reading

Serie A Best Fantasy XI – Round Two

Marco Silvestri (7 points): a great result by Verona in Lecce and the goalkeeper put his stamp on it with few convincing saves and in particularly by tipping away a wicked shot my Matteo Mancosu in the final stages of the game.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (5 points): he arrived in Italy with the pedigree of a centre-back, but Bologna quickly realized he is right back instead and a good one too as he can glide past his man with ease. Continue reading
