Take a look at the players we tip to make an impact on their side’s fortunes as some fresh Ligue 1 action kicks off this weekend!

Anthony Lopes, Lyon – 44 points

The Portuguese international sees his name in our picks for the weekend for the second consecutive week having secured a clean sheet last time out.

With his side playing strugglers Metz this time around, Lopez will be hoping to add to his haul of 11 once again.

Djibril Sidibe, Monaco 36 points

With his side facing an off form Nantes, who suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat last time out, the Frenchman will be hoping to secure a neat sum of points on the weekend.

The left back has six clean sheets this season and will be hoping to add to his of two goals and six assists, too.

Presnel Kimpembe, PSG – 50 points

The Paris Saint-Germain academy player has continued to grow in stature for his side over 2017/18, becoming a regular performer for the super club.

Having secured 12 clean sheets for the champions-elect, the French centre back will be keen to add to that tally as his side travel to Saint-Etienne for some Friday football.

Thiago Silva, PSG – 61 points

The Brazilian may be 33 years old now but he shows little sign of letting up.

With 13 clean sheets to his name, Silva will firmly believe that he can still make a difference for the French club.

Hiroki Sakai, Marseille – 45 points

The Japanese full back has grown into a valuable member of the Marseille back like since his move from the Bundesliga.

With 12 clean sheets and three assists, Sakai is capable of delivering an attacking threat as well as being defensively sound.

Malcom, Bordeaux – 60 points

Bordeaux’s poor run of form continues, having drawn two and lost three of their last five games, and the Brazilian starlet is the man that can prove to be the catalyst as his side face an abject Lille.

Malcom has made no secrets of his intention to leave the side this summer, adding to his nine goals and six assists will do no harm in furthering his cause to land a spot at a top European team.

Florian Thauvin, Marseille – 104 points

So emphatic has his form been across 2017/18 that it he has made the team most weeks.

The 25-year-old’s Marseille face a sixth place Montpellier that have struggled for wins over the past couple of months – will he add to his 16 Ligue 1 goals?

Alasanne Plea, Nice – 67 points

Nice have seen a return to form in recent weeks and could be on course to what would be a respectable xth placed finish.

Plea has been a critical figure for an underperforming side, his 12 goals and 4 assists going a long way to securing their current seventh placed position.

Jean Seri, Nice – 24 points

The Ivorian is attracting some of the biggest names in world club football thanks to his time at Nice and one would expect him to be in fine form.

His innate ability to shape the flow of a game will prove invaluable on the weekend, as his side battle for an unlikely place in European competition next season.

Mario Balotelli, Nice – 44 points

Having successfully revived his career on the French Riviera, the Italian will surely be setting his sights on a return to the elite echelons of the game.

With 14 goals in 22 games and available on a free, there could well be a fair few suitors for his services.

Radamel Falcao, Monaco – 71 points

Another man whose career has rejuvenated on the luxuries south coast of France, the Columbian striker has helped himself to 17 goals over the course of 2017/18.

With his side second placed side hosting a hot-and-cold Nantes, he’ll be eager to build upon his record.
