The 2017-18 Ligue 1 season is drawing to a close and there are still battles to be won across the division – especially in the battle for a European place.

With that in mind, we look at the players that are favourites to pick up some big points this time around.

Anthony Lopes, Lyon – 63 points

The Portuguese international sees his name in our picks thanks to his contribution to his side’s immense form.

With 14 clean sheets to his name, Lopes could well be in line for some additional points come the weekend.

Djibril Sidibe, Monaco – 30 points

With his side facing the challenge of a Lyon form that is in rapturous form at present,he will be looking to deliver a big performance on the weekend.

The left back has six clean sheets this season and will be hoping to add to his six assists, too.

Thiago Silva, PSG - 59 points

The Brazilian may be 33 years old now but he has shown little sign of dropping his game this season.

With 13 clean sheets to his name, Silva will firmly believe that he can still make a difference for the capital’s premiere club in their Friday fixture.

Adil Rami, Marseille – 52 points

The Marseille back line has largely been an uncompromising prospect for the opposition, with thanks in the most part to the 13 clean sheets he’s contributed towards.

With l’OM fighting for a space at Europe’s top table for next season, now would be an ideal moment for the Frenchman to add to his impressive record across 2017/18.

Marcelo, Lyon – 63 points

With three goals and 14 clean sheets, Marcelo has been the standout of the Lyon back line this campaign.

With their improved defensive displays of late adding to their great form, Marcelo will likely be a big points scorer on the weekend.

Mathieu Debuchy, Saint Etienne – 43 points

Debuchy has been a critical player for Saint Etienne having returned to his homeland following an injury-riddled time at Arsenal.

His side face a tough challenge as they come against the mixed bag that is Bordeaux, but they will be rightfully full of confidence as they pursue European football.

Angel Di Maria, PSG – 83 points

The Argentine midfielder will be hoping for a big end of the season and to take his excellent Ligue 1 form into the World Cup.

With 11 goals and 7 assists, the weekend’s game should be an ample opportunity for him to build on his figures as he comes up against mid-tabled Amiens.

Florian Thauvin, Marseille – 120 points

The Frenchman’s sensational campaign continues, with him now the highest scoring player in Ligue 1 – seven points ahead of second placed Cavani.

With Marseille hosting Nice, there are no guarantees on the weekend, but he will be favourite to make a difference.

Marcos Lopes, Monaco – 85 points

With his side facing strugglers Caen, Lopes  will be hoping to deliver the form that has seen him hit 13 goals this season.

A successful campaign under his belt, Lopes is proving to be a valuable cog in the Monaco machine.

Nabil Fekir, Lyon –  88 points

Lyon have been on an exceptional run recently, having won all of their last five games and will be hoping to add to this record as they host a Troyes side under serious threat of relegation.

Fekir has been the star of the campaign and will be hoping he can build upon his 17 goals in 2017/18.

Radamel Falcao, Monaco – 77 points

Falcao’s excellent season shows remains in the top bracket of world strikers and will undoubtedly be leading from the front come the weekend.

With 18 goals this season, the iconic Columbian will be hoping to add to his tally.

Edinson Cavani, PSG – 97 points

The Uruguayan centre forward will be keen to leave his print on the upcoming match as he continues to fill the Neymar-shaped void at PSG.

Having netted 27 goals in 29 games, Cavani will be keen to build on this exceptional record as his team host Amiens on Friday evening.
