Ligue 1 Player of the Week – Moussa Konate

Moussa Konate
Amiens striker Pape Moussa Konate is our EFL Ligue 1 Player of the week because of his match-winning performance in the 4-1 home win over Reims on Saturday.

The Senegalese player was the star of the weekend as he scored two goals and provided an assist in Amiens’ first win of the season. His performance earned him an impressive ten points from the latest round of games in Ligue 1.

The 25-year-old joined the Ligue 1 side in a four-year deal from Sion last summer. He proved to be Amiens’ most important player in their debut season in the top-tier of France football. He scored 13 league goals and provided a solitary assist in 33 league appearances for Amiens.

His contributions were vital for Amiens as they ended their first Ligue 1 campaign in a respectable 13th position. Besides Konate, no other Amiens player managed double-digit goals last season. Former Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta was their second-best goalscorer with six goals.
