Sevilla were arguably the stars of this past weekend’s La Liga action, recording a 6-2 away win at Levante. That allowed Wissam Ben Yedder and Sarabia make it into this week’s list straight away, while there were also some big hits from Alaves as they earned an equally impressive 5-1 win at the home of Rayo Vallecano. Celta Vigo, meanwhile, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Reakl Valladolid. Girona did well to earn a 2-2 draw at league leaders Barcelona, which allowed Real Madrid to catch up some ground near the top following their 1-0 victory at home against Levante. Let’s now take a look at the best players from the latest round of action in Spain’s top flight, using a 4-4-2 system this week.
GK - Marko Dmitrovic (Eibar)
Of the six goalkeepers to keep clean sheets in La Liga this past weekend, Dmitrovic is the cheapest on the Euro Fantasy League game with a price tag of just 6.5m. His seven points this weekend represent his first clean sheet of the season.
DF - Cristiano Piccini (Valencia)
There were also a raft of defenders to earn themselves five points, but none would go on to earn more. Piccini would set you back only 1.5m – he is the cheapest La Liga defender in the game, representing great value from this past weekend.
DF - Raúl Navas (Real Sociedad)
Going along similar thinking to Piccini, Navas earned himself five points thanks to Sociedad’s 1-0 win at Huesca. He may have only played 10 minutes in reality (in his first appearance this season) but for value he is next best, priced at just 3m.
DF – Paulo Oliveira (Eibar)
The second Eibar star on this week’s list, Oliveira has tended to be a solid presence for the side, though arguably unspectacular. His five points come from Eibar’s 1-0 home win against Leganes, and he would set you back only 5m.
DF - Alvaro G. Soberon (Villarreal)
Soberon has now featured in three clean sheets from his five appearances thus far this season, as Villarreal played out a 0-0 draw with Valencia. At 4.5m, he is another inexpensive option – this could be the cheapest best XI defence so far this season!
MF – Sarabia (Sevilla)
It would never take long for a Sevilla star to be in this team when they have just won 6-2, and Sarabia is that man. At 7m he may not be too expensive, but his 10 points gleaned from that win are his first of the campaign. One goal and three assists – some contribution!
MF - Marco Asensio (Real Madrid)
7.5m-rated Marco Asensio played the full game as Real Madrid battled to a 1-0 home win against Espanyol. Asensio scored that goal, earning him four points, and added another two for the clean sheet giving him a weekly total of six points earned.
MF - Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid)
Lemar is arguably a bargain this season in any case at just 6m, but he earned himself six points from Atleti’s solid 2-0 win at Getafe. Just like Asensio, he scored one and earned two points for the clean sheet.
MF - Raul Garcia (Athletic Bilbao)
Garcia would set you back only 8m, but he joins the list of top four midfielders in La Liga this weekend with his contribution to Bilbao’s 2-2 draw at Real Betis. He too scored one, but provided the assist for the other goal to give him six points.
ST - Wissam Ben Yedder (Sevilla)
As mentioned previously, Ben Yedder joins team-mate Sanabria in this week’s list thanks to his whopping 16 point total. Scoring three and setting another one up, he was directly involved in four of their six goals in that 6-2 win.
ST - Ibai Gomez (Alaves)
Gomez rounds off this week’s list of top La Liga players thanks to earning eight points in Alaves’ 5-1 win at Rayo Vallecano. He scored two of those goals for his tally, pipping Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas onto this list on valuation alone.
