EPL Weekend Picks – Round 7

Joao Moutinho

The seventh week of the 2018-19 Premier League season kicks off with West Ham v Manchester United on Saturday. Let’s take a look at 11 players who you should consider adding to your EPL Fantasy team before the weekend.

GK – Ederson (Manchester City)
Only 10 goalkeepers have picked up an average of one point or more in 2018-19 so far, which goes to show how difficult it is to select a reliable scorer of points in between the sticks. Ahead of Manchester City v Brighton on Saturday, you can’t go wrong with 10.00m-rated Ederson.

DF – Kieran Tripper (Tottenham)
Kieran Tripper has eight points this season – more than any other Tottenham defender – and he has a good chance to add to that tally this weekend against a Huddersfield side who have only scored three goals in their first six games. At 8.00m, he’s worth every last million.

DF – Willy Boly (Wolves)
Another week, another shout to include Willy Boly in your EPL Fantasy team. Wolves have proven themselves to have one of the most solid defensive units in the league so far this season, so spending 6.50m of your funds on Boly would be great business ahead of the visit of Southampton.

DF – Issa Diop (West Ham)
After four losses from four games, nobody would have imagined putting a West Ham defender in their EPL Fantasy team. However, the Hammers have been much-improved defensively recently, so Issa Diop is worth considering at 7.00m.

DF – Paul Dummett (Newcastle)
Newcastle’s tricky run of fixtures against four of the ‘Big Six’ is now over, so it might be a good time to put Paul Dummett in your team before the visit of Leicester. The defender has six points this season, which is respectable considering his club’s league position, and costs a bargain 2.00m.

MD – Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City)
Riyad Mahrez has only started two league games this season but he is pushing for a start for the visit of Brighton after three goals in the last four days. He’s a risk at 9.50m, especially if he doesn’t start, but he might be a risk worth taking.

MD – Aaron Lennon (Burnley)
Midfielders don’t come cheap in EPL Fantasy teams, so 6.00m for Aaron Lennon could be a shrewd signing. The Burnley winger has cemented his place in the starting XI this season and picked up an impressive eight points last weekend.

MD – Joao Moutinho (Wolves)
We’ve suggested Ruben Neves a couple of times already this season, but it might be worth looking at his fellow Portuguese midfielder at Wolves, Joao Moutinho, instead. The veteran has 10 points this season and is decent value at 7.50m.

ST – Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Valued at 14.50m, Harry Kane would be a very expensive addition to your team. But if there’s a time to go for him, it’s definitely this weekend. Tottenham’s opponents Huddersfield have scored the fewest goals and conceded the most goals in the league this season.

ST – Raul Jimenez (Wolves)
With so much talk about Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and super-sub Adama Traore this season, Raul Jimenez has gone under the radar at Wolves. But with two goals and 10 points to his name from six games, he could prove to be an excellent addition for just 5.50m.

ST – Andre Gray (Watford)
Andre Gray had a tricky start to life at Watford but he seems to have found his shooting boots again this season after scoring three goals in six games. He has 12 points already in 2018-19 – only four strikers have more – and he only costs 6.00m.
