Serie A Injury Report – Round 10

Juventus: Mario Mandzukic missed the Champions League game with an ankle sprain and will not be available in the weekend. Emre Can is dealing with a thyroid issue and his status is uncertain until further tests. Sami Khedira will skip a couple more games with his hamstring strain.

Napoli: Lorenzo Insigne subbed off against PSG for a knock on the chest but he should be good to go. Simone Verdi could miss up to a month with a grade one thigh (adductor) strain. Alex Meret and Faouzi Ghoulam were called up midweek, while Adam Ounas and Sebatiano Luperto were out because of muscle fatigue, which they will try to solve by Sunday.

Inter: Radja Nainggolan sprained his left ankle and he is facing a multi-game absence.

Lazio: Luis Alberto is banged up to the point that he was not named in the squad list for the Europa League match. He underwent some tests for sports hernia but they came back clean. Riza Durmisi has missed time with a dislocated elbow, but he is getting close to a return. Lucas Leiva subbed off on Thursday with an apparent muscular injury and he is unlikely to play, Milan Badelj got hurt last week, but he escaped without a strain and could replace the fellow midfielder against Inter. 

Sampdoria: Riccardo Saponara has recovered so the only injured player is Vasco Regini, out for a while with an ACL tear. Gregoire Defrel had a little muscular problem in the last game, but nothing major.

Fiorentina: no issues other than Christian Norgaard’s MCL sprain. Marco Benassi should be fine this week.

Roma: Aleksandar Kolarov and Daniele De Rossi, who are both nursing pinkie toe fractures, are expected to be available this time. Javier Pastore was absent on Tuesday because of an under calf ailment, same for Justin Kluivert that is dealing with an undisclosed muscular problem. Alessandro Florenzi is fatigued. 

Sassuolo: Kevin Prince Boateng has resumed practicing regularly and should be all systems go this time, while Alfred Duncan seems destined to skip another fixture. Jeremie Boga underwent surgery to remove some bone calcification in the tibia and his timetable is uncertain.

Torino: Cristian Ansaldi has recovered from his knee sprain and will play with the youth team this weekend. Lyanco is available after offseason foot surgery.

Parma: Roberto Inglese returned from a thigh hematoma, but suffered some back spasms and he has been ruled out by coach D’Aversa. Gervinho has recovered from a hamstring strain. Massimo Gobbi got stomped on and Amato Ciciretti rolled an ankle, but they should both be available, at least off the bench. Alberto Grassi is set to be out again with a calf strain.

Genoa: Andrea Favilli is recovering from some knee soreness, Gianluca Lapadula from an ankle sprain: they are both questionable. Nicolas Spolli is out with a thigh strain. Federico Marchetti has picked up a muscular injury.

Milan: Mattia Caldara returned to the squad list last week and Andrea Conti should be ready soon enough after a second knee operation. Hakan Calhanoglu was out for a bruise midweek and could have troubles recovering by Sunday. Franck Kessie has a minor an ankle and a knee problem and could skip another one. Mattia Caldara is out with a calf ailment, while Andrea Conti has been called up after a long absence.

SPAL: Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is suspended. Johan Djourou is nursing an ankle sprain, while Mirko Valdifiori was knocked on the knee in practice and will undergo some tests. Federico Viviani should be out again with a calf strain.

Cagliari: Darijo Srna was close to returning last week from a back injury and should be ready this time. Diego Farias (calf), Ragnar Klavan (Achilles) and Charalampos Lykogiannis (calf) are primed to be sidelined for another game.

Atalanta: Andrea Masiello is not ready to return from a thigh strain, Marco Tumminello (elbow) and Arkadiusz Reca should join him on the shelf.

Udinese: Rodrigo De Paul has a bad ankle, Rolando Mandragora a bruised shoulder and Seko Fofana a sore calf, but they could all gut it out and play. Bram Nuytinck is more at risk because of a thigh pull. Lukasz Teodorczyk has undergone some exams for sports hernia and will likely be stopped for a while. Darwin Machis (calf) and Giuseppe Pezzella (quad) should miss another one.

Bologna: Mitchell Dijks and Danilo subbed off from the last game because of thigh injuries. They escaped without a strain, but they are iffy for this weekend. They could be a little short-handed considering that also Federico Mattiello and Ladislav Krejci missed the last game, but Krejci has a chance to be called up this week. 

Empoli: Levan Mchedlidze and Frederic Veseli are out with muscular issues.

Frosinone: Mirko Gori returned last week after missing a lot of time with a dislocated shoulder. Luka Krajnc should be available, while Emil Hallfredsson and Stipe Perica, dealing with different knee issues, and Joaquin Ardaiz (thigh) will be out again. Raffaele Maiello and Cristian Molinaro are fatigued but will try to recover.

Chievo: Federico Barba is suspended. Fabrizio Cacciatore, Nenad Tomovic and Filip Djordjevic have not recovered from their physical problems, while Emanuele Giaccherini and Joel Obi have been called up.
