The 12th weekend of the 2018-19 Premier League season saw Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea maintain their unbeaten starts, while struggling Cardiff and Newcastle picked up their second victories of the campaign. Let’s take a look at the top EFL Fantasy points scorers from the weekend’s games…
GK: Alisson, Liverpool – seven points
Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners against Fulham on Sunday, meaning Alisson kept yet another clean sheet. He now has 49 points for the season, making him the Reds’ highest scorer.
DF: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool – seven points
Trent Alexander-Arnold helped Liverpool keep a clean sheet and recorded an assist to pick up his first points since September. Despite his recent quiet spell, the youngster still has an impressive tally of 26 points so far this season.
DF: Andrew Robertson, Liverpool – seven points
Another defender, another Liverpool player. Like Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson was part of the defence that shut out Fulham on Sunday. He also recorded his third assist of the season.
DF: Marcos Alonso, Chelsea – five points
If Marcos Alonso isn’t in your EPL Fantasy team yet, what are you waiting for?! The Chelsea left-back was one of his side’s best players in the 0-0 draw with Everton. He now has 37 points in 2018-19.
DF: Matt Lowton, Burnley – five points
Burnley have one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League this season (25 goals conceded), but they managed to keep a clean sheet in the draw with Leicester on Saturday. Matt Lowton played a big part, earning five points.
MD: Mohamed Salah, Liverpool – six points
The Liverpool selections keep on coming in this week’s Best XI. Mohamed Salah picked up a total of six points after scoring in the 2-0 win over Fulham. Despite his apparent dip in form, only four players have more points than the Egyptian in the entire league.
MD: Xherdan Shaqiri, Liverpool – six points
Your eyes do not deceive you — that is another high-scoring Liverpool player in this week’s team. Xherdan Shaqiri scored his second Premier League goal of the season to earn himself six points.
MD: David Silva, Manchester City – four points
David Silva was one of Manchester City’s key men in the 3-1 win over Manchester United. The Spaniard scored his fourth goal of the season, taking his 2018-19 tally to 29 points.
ST: Salomon Rondon, Newcastle – seven points
Salomon Rondon scored his first goals of the season in Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth. Only four players from Rafa Benitez’s side have more points than Rondon (9) in 2018-19.
ST: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – four points
With eight goals and four assists from 12 games, Sergio Aguero has continued his fine form from last season. He scored another goal in Sunday’s Manchester derby, taking his 2018-19 tally to 40 points.
ST: Ivan Cavaleiro, Wolves – four points
Ivan Cavaleiro scored his second goal of the season in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, earning himself four points.
