Fantasy La Liga picks for the coming weekend’s action

La Liga

Every La Liga team will be in action this weekend, starting from early on Saturday and finishing with a Monday night game between Leganes and Real Madrid.

As always, we’ve taken a look at the fixtures from a La Liga fantasy football viewpoint to help you with your picks for the weekend.

Have a read and see if any tips stick out which might suit your fantasy La Liga team this weekend.

Goalkeeper – Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid) – 11.0 million

Widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Jan Oblak has amassed 104 fantasy La Liga points this season already.

Defender – Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid) – 6.5 million

Filipe Luis is a fairly priced Atletico Madrid defender considering the points he earns. Luis has 55 points this season.

Defender – Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid) – 9.0 million

Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin continues to turn in top-level performances despite his advancing years. He will be expecting another clean sheet this weekend against relegation strugglers Celta Vigo. Godin has 72 points this season.

Defender – Yuri (Athletic Bilbao) – 3.0 million

Yuri is always a good defensive choice for those on a tight budget. Athletic Bilbao are at home to 19th-place side Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Yuri has 34 points this season.

Defender – Jose Gaya (Valencia) – 6.5 million

Valencia’s Jose Gaya is a good defensive option for this weekend with Valencia still hopeful of a Champions League place. They are at home to Levante and will be looking for the win and a clean sheet. Gaya has 45 points this season.

Midfielder – Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona) – 10.5 million

The Brazilian international, Philippe Coutinho, will be expected to step up to the plate for Barcelona this weekend with the possibility of Messi and Suarez being rested. Coutinho has 49 points this season.

Midfielder – Sarabia (Sevilla) – 7.0 million

Once again, I can’t leave Sarabia out of the team. With Sevilla home to Real Betis, Sarabia and co will be going for all three points in their push for a top-four spot. Sarabia has 72 points this season.

Midfielder – Daniel Parejo (Valencia) – 8.5 million

Daniel Parejo has enjoyed a great season at Valencia up to now. He’ll be looking to push his team up towards the top four and a Champions League qualification place when they play at home to Levante on Sunday night. Parejo has 55 points this season.

Midfielder- Raul Garcia (Athletic Bilbao) – 8.0 million

Athletic’s Raul Garcia will be confident of a win and some fantasy La Liga points this weekend as they play host to lowly Rayo Vallecano. Garcia has 33 points this season.

Forward – Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) – 6.0 million

Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele is listed as doubtful due to a hamstring strain but I think he may be fit in time for Barcelona’s trip to Huesca on Saturday. Ernesto Valverde will want to use Dembele and rest Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg match with Manchester United next Tuesday. Dembele has 39 points this season.

Forward – Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) – 10.0 million

Karim Benzema turned in a good performance for Real Madrid to help them to a 2-1 win over Eibar last Saturday. His two second-half goals saved Real’s blushes. Benzema has 77 points this season.

Team in full (4-4-2): Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid); Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), Yuri (Athletic Bilbao), Jose Gaya (Valencia); Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona), Sarabia (Sevilla), Daniel Parejo (Valencia), Raul Garcia (Athletic Bilbao); Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Total cost: 86.0 million
