A preview of round 3 of the Premier League

It’s already round 3 of Premier League action in the 2019/20 season.

Liverpool and Arsenal are the only two sides with a 100% record after just two matches! These two giants meet at Anfield in the Saturday evening game.

Elsewhere, both Manchester clubs should win comfortably while Spurs will most likely beat Newcastle but Chelsea could struggle at Norwich City.

Aston Villa v Everton

Key men: Grealish (Aston Villa); Richarlison (Everton)

Prediction: Aston Villa 1 – 2 Everton

It could be another tough day at Villa Park for the newly-promoted home side.

Norwich City v Chelsea

Key men: Pukki (Norwich); Pulisic (Chelsea)

Prediction: Norwich 2 – 1 Chelsea

I’m going for a home win here with Norwich’s Teemu Pukki once again amongst the goals.

Sheffield United v Leicester City

Key men: McBurnie (Sheffield United); Maddison (Leicester City)

Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 2 Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers’ side should have enough to take all three points from Bramall Lane.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace

Key men: Rashford (Manchester United); Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Prediction: Manchester United 3 – 0 Crystal Palace

United should win this one comfortably against a Crystal Palace team which is yet to kick into gear.

Brighton v Southampton

Key men: Gross (Brighton); Adams (Southampton)

Prediction: Brighton 2 – 1 Southampton

Brighton to continue their great start to life under Graham Potter.

Watford v West Ham United

Key men: Pereyra (Watford); Anderson (West Ham)

Prediction: Watford 1 – 1 West Ham United

Watford are still without a win after their first two games this season. I think that wait is likely to go on this weekend with West Ham likely to take at least a point from Vicarage Road.

Liverpool v Arsenal

Key men: Mane (Liverpool); Aubameyang (Arsenal)

Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 2 Arsenal

With 30 goals in the last six meetings between these sides at Anfield – an average of five goals per game – you can be sure that Saturday evening’s encounter will be an exciting one. Liverpool should win, just about.

Bournemouth v Manchester City

Key men: Harry Wilson (Bournemouth); Sterling (Manchester City)

Prediction: Bournemouth 1 – 4 Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City team should pick up three points at Bournemouth in another high-scoring game.

Wolves v Burnley

Key men: Neves (Wolves); Barnes (Burnley)

Prediction: Wolves 1 – 1 Burnley

Burnley have looked good so far and were unlucky to lose at Arsenal. Tight game to call so it could well be a draw.

Spurs v Newcastle United

Key men: Kane (Spurs); Almiron (Newcastle)

Prediction: Spurs 3 – 0 Newcastle United

Steve Bruce’s job could be in trouble as early as October if he doesn’t get his side into the winning habit soon. He won’t be doing that this weekend as Spurs will have far too much for The Magpies.
