Napoli acquire Lozano from PSV

After pursuing James Rodriguez and Nicolas Pépé, Napoli went back to their original target to bolster the attack and acquired Hirving Lozano from PSV for €38M, a move that has been floating around since February.

In the last two seasons, after transferring from Pachuca, the 24-year-old winger has scored 40 goals and provided 23 appearances in 79 appearances. He has 35 caps with Mexico under his belt and notched nine goals with his national team.

Lozano can feature on both flanks, but will likely play mostly on the right, pushing José Callejon for minutes, as the left one will be manned by Lorenzo Insigne, who is set to return to that role as Napoli are switching to 4-2-3-1 to open the season. The two share the same agent, Mino Raiola.

Nicknamed El Chucky, the forward sustained a foot injury in the opening match of Eredivisie, but it is believed to be only a contusion, so it did not slow down the negotiation and he passed the medicals. He will reportedly have a €130M release clause in his five-year contract with the Partenopei. The acquisition will now allow them to sell Simone Verdi and/or loan Adam Ounas.
