Paratici rules out Dybala leaving and addresses Chiellini injury

Juventus CFO Fabio Paratici formally took Paulo Dybala out of the market for the first time: “I rule out his departure in a definitive way. His picture with Giorgio Chiellini demonstrates how tight this group is. The transfer market is not only made of planning, but also of opportunities and some unexpected events, like Giorgio Chiellini’s one. The ongoing games can lead to some trepidation but we are very serene. If there were any, we could take advantage of some bargains in the time left, otherwise we will stay as is.”

On Maurizio Sarri: “He is a great coach and that is recognized internationally, but we have had great seasons with other managers as well.”

On Chiellini’s injury: “We are very sorry for him, first of all for the person and for his importance within the club. We are equipped to replace him, we have a great roster.”

On the team’s heart: “It is something that is not discussed much. We have won for eight straight years in Italy, we have done well in Europe too. The fact that some players, like Gianluigi Buffon and Leonardo Bonucci, wanted to return means that this group is special. We have had some footballers that have given us a lot at multiple levels. We have led the standings for three thousand days, but everybody still give their max effort in practice.”

Leonardo Bonucci addressed the Giorgio Chiellini news in the pre-game: “It is a very significant absence. Unfortunately injuries are part of the game, but he reacted well, he was determined to begin this journey that will allow him to come back in March, in the decisive stretch of the season. Now it is up to each and everyone of us to make up for this big loss.”

On the magnitude of the game: “It is worth three points and it will give us important answers about the path we have started with Maurizio Sarri. We are happy to play it at home since the fans will give us an extra push.”

On Matthijs De Ligt: “I will have to help the youngster, especially him, but also Merih Demiral and Daniele Rugani. He has to stay serene because if he came here it means that he has potential. I hope he can give his best right away.”
