Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round Ten

Juventus: Miralem Pjanic (thigh) and Gonzalo Higuain (head) were ruled out. while Rodrigo Bentancur, who hurt his ribs, is good to go. Douglas Costa has resumed practicing fully and might return to the squad either here or on Sunday, while Aaron Ramsey is still limited, but he is the squad list. 

Inter: Stefano Sensi is progressing but will not come back here. The reports about Matias Vecino’s thigh injury have been scarce, but he was not dealing with a major problem.

Atalanta: Andrea Masiello missed one with a knee bruise but he has good chances to play against Napoli. José-Luis Palomino was a late scratch for a flexor problem, but he recovered enough to be called up. Duvan Zapata is eyeing a return for next week’s match.

Napoli: Kevin Malcuit torn the ACL and a meniscus in the right knee and will miss five-to-six months. Kostas Manolas remains iffy due to a cracked rib, while Mario Rui is set to be available after missing time with muscle fatigue. Elseid Hysaj is nursing a fractured sternum.

Roma: Cengiz Under went into full training and is expected to be called up for Wednesday’s game, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not ready yet. Juan Jesus picked up a thigh injury. 

Lazio: Denis Vavro got suspended even though he did not play in the last round. Silvio Proto has a sprained wrist. Ciro Immobile is dinged up but he is expected to play through it. 

Cagliari: Fabrizio Cacciatore and Charalampos Lykogiannis were close to returning from their ailments in the weekend and have been selected for Wednesday’s game. Luca Ceppitelli will miss some time with plantar fasciitis. 

Parma: Matteo Scozzarella was suspended for a blatant profane expression, while Riccardo Gagliolo pulled his thigh, joining Vincent Laurini, Andreas Cornelius, Bruno Alves, Roberto Inglese and Alberto Grassi in the disabled list.

Fiorentina: Franck Ribery was slapped with a three-game suspension for shoving a linesman after the Lazio game, while Luca Ranieri was sent off in that one. Pol Lirola and Martin Caceres subbed off due to thigh injury that will likely cost them two or three matches.

Bologna: Mitchell Dijks does not appear ready to come back from a foot contusion and no returns among their other injured players, Mattia Destro, Gary Medel and Takehiro Tomiyasu, either. Andrea Poli subbed off during the weekend and he is questionable. 

Torino: Alex Berenguer has made the squad list after missing two matches with an ankle sprain, while Kevin Bonifazi is questionable with a hand fracture.

Milan: Mattia Caldara (Achilles) and Ricardo Rodriguez are still out, while Giacomo Bonaventura (thigh) will return. 

Udinese: Jens Stryger Larsen is not back yet. Nicholas Opoku is suspended.

Sassuolo: Francesco Magnanelli won his appeal against the disqualificaiton for blaphemy. No recoveries in their long list of injured players.

Verona: Miguel Veloso is slated to play after skipping one due to muscle fatigue. Pawel Dawidowicz has been ruled out with an undisclosed issue. 

Lecce: Diego Farias picked up a thigh strain and will miss two-to-three weeks. Giannelli Imbula is be back from a similar problem, while Zan Majer has a sore Achilles that will sideline him in this round.

Genoa: Marko Pajac will miss another one, like Andrea Favilli, Domenico Criscito (thigh) and Stefano Sturaro.

Brescia: Jhon Chancellor suffered a thigh strain and will sit out the next three fixtures. Bruno Martella is questionable due to muscle fatigue, while Giangiacomo Magnani, Ernesto Torregrossa (quad) and Luca Tremolada (shoulder) will not return here. Jesse Joronen was a late scratch. 

SPAL: Igor and Jasmin Kurtic are being evaluated for potential muscular injuries. Federico Di Francesco remains very much questionable after a thigh one.

Sampdoria: Karol Linetty is again in doubt due to a thigh contracture.
