Premier League trio priced as leading favorites to win Europa League

Premier League trio Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal are the bookmakers’ favorites to win the Europa League following Monday’s last-32 draw in Switzerland.

Spurs have enjoyed a superb start to the new campaign and remain firmly in the Premier League title hunt despite narrowly losing 2-1 to leaders and defending champions Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night. Roberto Firmino’s late header won it for Liverpool but Tottenham’s resolute performance enhanced their title credentials.

Jose Mourinho has also safely guided his side through to the knockout stages of the Europa League after topping Group J ahead of Royal Antwerp. Tottenham were handed a very kind draw after being pitted against Wolfsberger in the last-32.

Spurs should have no trouble seeing-off the Austrian minnows over two legs to progress to the next round so it’s no surprise their odds fell to 5/1 at casinogam.uk to win the Europa League this year following Monday’s draw. That makes Tottenham the firm favorites to go all the way but they could still face stiff competition from some of their domestic rivals.

Manchester United dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group behind PSG and RB Leipzig which sparked rumors Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be on his way out as manager. The Red Devils have been handed a tough test after being drawn to face Real Sociedad in the last-32 but they are still listed at 7/1 and that is the second favorites to win the competition. Sociedad sit top of La Liga after an excellent start to the season but United should still have too much for them over the two legs.

Arsenal are enduring a torrid time in the Premier League as they currently sit just above the relegation zone having won just four of their 13 games so far but in Europe the Gunners have been faultless. Mikel Arteta guided his team to a perfect 6 wins from 6 games in the group stages and they were rewarded with a tough test against Benfica in the first knockout round.

It’s a tricky tie for Arsenal so it’s understandable that their odds to win the Europa League fell to 9/1 following the draw. However, if the Gunners can ease past Benfica then their odds will tighten so fans may want to get on at 9/1 if they’re confident Arsenal can beat the Portuguese giants to book their place in the last-16.

The nearest challengers for the English trio is AC Milan as they are priced as the fourth favorites at10/1 followed by Leicester City at 12/1 and Napoli at 14/1. Bayer Leverkusen are hitting form so they could be the dark horses at odds of 17/1. The Europa League resumes again just after mid-February 2021 so there’s plenty of time between now & then. Current form may not be an issue by then.
