Serie A Predictions – Round 14

Crotone-Parma: both clubs are coming off ugly losses after fairly good stretches as the Squali capitulated against Sampdoria and the Ducali versus Juventus. Before that, the Squali had sunk Spezia and shared the spoils with Udinese, while the Rossoblù had picked up a bunch of draws: 2-2.

Juventus-Fiorentina: the Bianconeri steamrolled Parma over the weekend, notching their third win over the last four rounds. The Viola have not triumphed in ages but have collected three ties in the last four rounds, including two quality ones with Sassuolo and Verona. However, those have come at home and they have struggled mightily on the road as they have failed to score in the last four away fixtures: 3-0.

Verona-Inter: the Scaligeri lost to Sampdoria and equalized with Sampdoria in the last two rounds, failing to follow up the two recent impressive wins over Atalanta and Lazio. The Nerazzurri have rarely seemed dominant, especially recently, but they have rattled off six Ws in a row, against Torino, Sassuolo, Bologna, Cagliari, Napoli and Spezia. The Gialloblù are plucky against any top team, but the Beneamata might be in too good form for them: 1-2.

Bologna-Atalanta: the Rossoblù have not won in four contests but have scrounged two draws versus Spezia and Torino away. The Bergamaschi are soaring with two large victories over Roma and Sampdoria and a draw against Juventus and will look to do some quick work in a doable bout: 1-3.

Milan-Lazio: the Rossoneri are coming off a good-looking victory over Sassuolo after two straight 2-2 ties with Parma and Genoa, but the injury bug continues to hit them hard and the Biancocelesti might have snapped out of their funk thanks to a great display versus Napoli and have been strong on the road all season long: 1-1.

Napoli-Torino: the Partenopei have dropped two matches in a row and are dealing with a slew of major injuries, but the Granata, who have suffered four losses and shared the spoils three times in the past seven rounds, are in a very confusing state: 2-1.

Roma-Cagliari: the Giallorossi were again trucked in a big match, at the hands of Atalanta this time. They are undefeated at home, where they have toppled everybody but Juventus and Sassuolo. The Sardinians have been resilient in the last six tilts, coming away with four draws versus Spezia, Verona, Parma and Udinese, but they have not been particularly good in a minute: 3-1.

Sampdoria-Sassuolo: two victories in a row for the Blucerchiati, which downed Verona and Crotone, putting behind them a sticky patch where they had lost four of five. The Neroverdi are clearly losing steam with just one win in the last five rounds, against Benevento, two draws with Roma and Fiorentina, but it took Inter and Milan to beat them: 2-2.

Spezia-Genoa: they have been pretty flat in the last four contests as they were bested by Lazio, Crotone and Inter and picked up their lone point versus Bologna, even though they are always pretty feisty. The Grifone will hope for an immediate new-coach bump as they pulled the trigger after the loss against Benevento, the sixth in the past eight matches, as the tie with Milan quickly turned out to be fool’s gold. The Aquilotti have never won at home: 1-1.

Udinese-Benevento: the Friuliani could not keep up their fast pace as they equalized with Crotone and Cagliari after upending Genoa, Lazio and Torino. The Sanniti capitalized on their okay form with a great W over Genoa, the second in the last six matchdays, where they have drawn in three separate occasions and have been defeated just once. However, they have not been great away: 1-0.
