Calcio Predictions – Round 15

Inter-Crotone: the Nerazzurri have been a steamroller results-wise, coming out on top in the last seven matches. They should be able to keep it going even if the Squali have been frisky lately with two convincing wins over Spezia and Parma, but both at home, while they have had major troubles away: 2-0.

Atalanta-Sassuolo: the Bergamaschi threw it away against Bologna as they were up two-nothing, missing out on the opportunity to gather the third W in the past four matches. They soundly defeated Fiorentina and Roma and held Juventus to a tie prior to that. The Neroverdi looked good for the first time in a while versus Sampdoria. They have not fared well in big games, losing against Inter and Roma, but they have a great track record on the road: 2-2.

Cagliari-Napoli: both teams are looking for a positive result as the Sardinians have not won in seven rounds, where they have tied four times and lost against Juventus, Inter and Roma, the Partenopei instead in the past three, where they were upended by Lazio and Inter and equalized in ugly fashion with Torino. Only top teams have defeated the Rossoblù at home, but the Azzurri are dealing with few major absences: 1-1.

Fiorentina-Bologna: they fully took advantage of favorable circumstances in the Juventus game, taking home their first win since late October. They had shared the spoils three times prior to that, with Genoa, Sassuolo and Verona. They will try to follow it up with three more points, but the Felsinei are resilient and are coming off three straight draws, with Spezia, Torino and Atalanta: 3-2.

Genoa-Lazio: the new coach’s bump was in full effect versus Spezia as they picked up a veteran and pivotal win, the first one since the opener after a series of negative results. The Biancocelesti came back from a two-goal disadvantage versus Milan, but were pipped at the post, losing the third match in the last six contests. They recently drew with Benevento but have generally been solid against the minnows: 1-2.

Parma-Torino: another encounter between two slumping sides as the Ducali have not prevailed since late November, tying three times after that and being toppled by Juventus and Crotone in the last two tilts. The Granata too have not won in ages, but they collected two points in the two most recent fixtures with Bologna and Napoli, where they played a tiny bit better than usual: 1-1.

Roma-Sampdoria: the Giallorossi quickly returned to form versus Cagliari after the rout by Atalanta and have been automatic against the opponents from the lower portion of the table. After two wins over Verona and Crotone, Sampdoria were edged at home by Sassuolo: 3-1.

Spezia-Verona: the Aquilotti are in a tail spin with four losses (Lazio, Crotone, Inter and Genoa) and an X with Bologna in the last four matches, even though they were mostly close games. A little swoon for the Scaligeri as well, who have lost twice in the last three games, at the hands of Sampdoria and Inter, with a draw with Fiorentina in between, but they should get some pieces back in this one: 1-2.

Benevento-Milan: the Sanniti are in very good shape as they beat Genoa and Udinese in the last two tilts and have been bested just once, by Sassuolo, but the Rossoneri, who sunk Lazio late before the break and are still undefeated, just seem to always find a way to win: 0-1.

Juventus-Udinese: the Old Lady will seek to bounce back after the first loss of the year and the heaviest one at the Stadium in its history. They had come out on top in three of the previous four matches prior to that meltdown. The Friulani saw a little streak came to an end as well as Benevento topped them after six positive results in a row, equally divided between wins and ties: 2-0.
